  1. Last year and the year before, emails came out by 9am on the advertised day.
  2. I was able to listen to the recent Zoom call meeting with parents of children invited to final auditions. It was specifically said that it’s possible for a child to be doing very well in the foundation year assessments as they are measured against the requirements of that program at that specific time but they may still not be invited to progress because the expectations of them - physically, emotionally and technically - are very, very different in the next stage of training and they are not be able to meet those in their opinion, whether that’s years 10/11 from year 9 or at the next two entry/exit points further up the school. The context was very much intended to be positive in that not being asked to stay on was no indication that you were failing or not right for a classical dance career but that you just weren’t right for their next stage. He said many will go on to flourish at other schools and will always benefit from being able to have ‘successfully completed such and such program(s) at RBS’ on their CV. My point is that not being asked to stay on at one of the transition points may still be an unexpected outcome for a student and their parents as it is not solely linked to assessment outcomes, this is why it should not be considered as ‘having been assessed out’. Others who were part of the same meeting may have interpreted this differently of course.
  3. I know first hand that the girls at finals this year were predominantly from overseas. I also know that it was the same for Yr9 - 12 girls invited and only 2 from UK. Presumably this was also influenced by the move to the next stage as I’d hope RBS wouldn’t accept anyone into Yr9 without being a certain as they could be be about them progressing.
  4. No nothing. They said 2 weeks and it’s very nearly 3 now so not sure what to think🤷‍♀️
  5. It was finals - no semi final round for those year groups. Yr10/11 was over 2 days the same as Yr7
  6. Just to further manage expectations, the results from the Yr8/9 and Yr10/11 audition that took place 24th-26th February haven’t come out yet.
  7. Full schedule that was on DD invite to finals - she’s going for Yr10 entry is: Yr 8&9 on 24/02, Yr 10&11 on 25/02 and 26/02 and, as you mention, Yr7 girls on 03/03 and 04/03. Yr7 boys on 07/03 and 08/03.
  8. Finals for other Year groups begin on 24th February so I would think semi- final results would be out before then
  9. Did I read earlier in this thread that there were zoom auditions this weekend for overseas students? If so, results may not likely until mid-next week anyway?
  10. Someone with more knowledge may well correct me but I believe RBS can take up to 16 in each year group. By ‘limiting’ the Yr 7 intake to 12 this effectively leaves room for more dancers to audition for a place in Yr 8 and above.
  11. I got one too so it must be a general email to all. I accepted DD place last Thursday and when I click on the link in today's email it asks if I want to start another registration so I'm assuming that means they have the initial acceptance
  12. No correlation at all. The girls were non the wiser when they left at the end of the day whether they’d got in or not. They did recall a small group of 14/15 to have a second look at that was made up from girls across the groups but I believe only 1 or 2 from this got a place. They’ve done this over recent years but I guess it won’t be happening this year. Most places are awarded after the main class so they definitely know what they are and aren’t looking for.
  13. At the girls final last year there were 3 groups of around 25 each over the two days. There was no obvious logic to the groupings, it appeared to be random and definitely not based on age, home location or JA centre.
  14. Brilliant news. Well done to your DD. My DD has a place too!
  15. Can anyone tell me the time of the mid associates class in Birmingham? Thank you 😊
  16. Brilliant!! Well done to your daughter. My DD remembered her when I mentioned “no.1 in the lilac leotard” and said “ yes, she should get through”. I thought the standard was very high when we watched for the last 10mins and could only pick out one who looked like she was a little below the level of the others. Wonder how many they take forward?
  17. DD was number 8, wearing a light green leotard. She really enjoyed it and thought it went well but was a bit worried as she stumbled on one of the pirouettes but it obviously didn’t matter as we received our letter today - much quicker than what they said - she has a place at finals in March!! She’s super excited. x
  18. We were there last week. DD class was at 9am so there was plenty of spaces at the cricket ground when we arrived there around 8.30. It looked full though when we left about 11.30 though. Not sure what time your auditon class is?
  19. We have just received our email from Manchester at the weekend....DD got a yes for Yr6. Really pleased for her but I doubt we'll be able to take it up as she was lucky enough to also get RBS in Birmingham Anyone know if it's possible to transfer from Manchester to Birmingham for Elmhurst as we are Midlands based so RBS makes more sense?
  20. She was Day 1 (Thursday 2nd). Group 2 I think...12.30pm
  21. We've had our email from Birmingham....its a yes for DD (year 6). We got 24 sessions our first preference w as for 32.
  22. Son or Daughter? Daughter Birthday? April Year applied for? 6 Auditioned in? Birmingham For a place in? Birmingham Applied before? No Any other centres?
