My dd received the same offer today, although it confused me in the opposite way as we were hoping for a day place and it said about being waitlisted for a boarding place and I was thinking I don’t remember asking for one!! So I think it must be the same letter for all, regardless of what you’ve applied for. From previous years, I seem to remember the suggestion that all are offered waitlist until they know exactly who has accepted places and distances that people will have to travel.

    Congratulations @balletboy8 & @Julsgalaxy on your offers🤗 x

Thanks PurplePirouette this is really helpful and congrats to you too 😃

    Congratulations ❤️
we have the same , an offer of a day place with invitation to the MDS final 😃

The day place threw me too as we too are 2.5 hours away but I suppose they offer that first perhaps until they know what funding places there will be 🤷‍♀️

Congrats to you too - well done!!!  Your thought make sense and had crossed my mind 😃

Hope it’s good news for you.

No results for us today but surely they’ll be in the next day or so now the earlier ones are out.

It's an odd one - I can't recall exactly what options I put on the application but the offer is:

Yes to a day place with waiting list for residential. We live 2.5 hours away so a day place is not an option. We were thinking of moving at one time so perhaps I ticked that box. Also offered an MDS audition on the 18th March and this is for assisted funding - residential.

The day place has thrown me a little 😃

Obviously it could be different this year but as a guide, 2 years ago we went with my eldest and the girls were there for both days.  They put them in groups and it was a carousel of the different things (ballet class, physio, academic test, interview and lots of waiting around), over the 2 days.

I think there was an extra ballet class that a smallish group had to stay for at the end of the second day.  My daughter was not called back for that but got an MA place.

Thank you - what did the academic test comprise of?

I know some people have said it’s only 2 days if you get to the second but the info definitely says you will be there for both so that’s what I’m assuming. Our teacher told us some physio assessments take place on day 1 and some on day 2. But who knows! Not heard anything else since the original date change email !

    Thank you 😃

  6. Hi All - wondering whether anyone knows about the WL finals for boys. The dates have been moved to 7th & 8th of March.

This causes us a difficulty, does anyone know how these days work - is it two days, is it one day with a call back, is the call back if they need to see more or is it the final stage for all those DC still in the running?

    Many thanks 😃

Does anyone know if Tring funding auditions are only offered to those who ticked "funding required", or anyone of a suitable standard? Fully expecting a straight "no" from Tring anyway as the class seemed much more complex than WL and Elmhurst, and my poor pupil had never done jazz before in her life!

DS said the same re complexity and he has also never done jazz but hoping they take that into account. I can only assume that they offer funding auditions to those who reach the standard and have ticked the box but is an assumption.

I’m not 100% sure where I came to this understanding, but I feel I’ve been told results might be just a couple of weeks, as today’s was only boys. That’s when they presumably offer fee paying places. I understand they then decide who to invite back for a funding audition, as unlike Royal and Elmhurst, there isn’t funding available for every accepted student. That funding audition is around March I believe. I could have this totally wrong.

Thanks BalletBoysDad, apart from the 'couple of weeks', that is also my understanding. Due to a potential clash with something else, I had to ask when the funding auditions take place. They would not be specific but told me it was mid-March. 🙂

Were you sitting on the couches before waiting for the school tour ? I thought it might be you ….I came and sat down opposite you 👍

No idea on when to receive results 🤷‍♀️

Guilty as charged, lovely meeting you & DS. Odd that they seem to not have shared some sort of time for results - fingers crossed 🤞

I would love to hear how the solos are done if anyone would care to share later. Are they called in one by one or do they all sit and watch each other?

DS says that they were called in 1 at a time and the others waited around outside the studio.

Does anyone know when we hear the results?

My son is on the 7th too 😃

Lets hope that nothing changes next week and auditions can go ahead 🤞

Those of you doing the Tring audition….what are you doing about music for their solo ? I don’t think they’ve said how to bring it eg disc , usb etc ?

DS doesn't have anyone who can choreograph a routine so is making one up, I can't even download/buy the exact version of the song he wants so having to remote record and then download onto USB - all very painful.

Does anyone know more about the academic assessment?

    Thanks 😄

  12. Thursday 16th of Dec..

I am writing to you today to let you know that, as things stand at the moment, we are still planning to hold our auditions in person. However, we are putting some measures into place for the auditions:

I am sorry but, on this occasion, we are only able to have one parent accompanying the candidate for the meeting with the Principal and Course Directors. This will also be the case for the tour of the school.

    Please note the following:
    • We require all candidates and parents coming to the school to  take a Lateral Flow Test within 24 hours of attendance please. Of course if the test is positive please don't attend the audition, we will suggest an alternative.
    • All visitors will need to wear a mask at all times. Candidates will need to wear a mask at all times , except during their audition, unless exempt for medical reasons.
    • Candidates should bring your own water bottles.

Should Government advice for schools change, we will be in touch with alternative arrangements.
