    I had an opportunity to get inside the head of Tulsa Ballet's Artistic Director Marcello Angelini to find out what it's like having to balance economics and sensitivity in order to keep his company alive and strong, especially during these challenging times.     Hi Everyone, I have just published a story titled The Professional Ballet Community Adapts in a Pandemic World: Artistic Leadership, Dancers, and Educators Share Their Thoughts About the Past, Present, and Future in which 35 professionals of the ballet world respond to the following questions: 1. How have the events of the past year influenced how directors, teachers, choreographers, and dancers approach their jobs? 2. Although we all wish we had an eight ball, we know the future is unforeseeable. That being said, relative to the ballet industry, what predictions can we make for 2021? The companies included are: Alberta Ballet American Ballet Theatre Amy Seiwert's Imagery Ballet West Ballet Arizona Bayerisches Staatsballett Boston Ballet Carolina Ballet Cincinnati Ballet Grand Rapids Ballet The Joffrey Ballet Miami City Ballet Opéra Nice Côte d'Azur Pacific Northwest Ballet The Sarasota Ballet Singapore Dance Theatre The National Ballet of Canada Tulsa Ballet as well as a few freelancers. It's a long read, but one broken up in chapters so you can take it little by little I hope you enjoy hearing the voices of all of these wonderful people that make the ballet world so beautiful!     What started as a couple of questions for Jordan resulted in an essay that I couldn't help but share. Her honesty as she shares her journey through this pandemic is uplifting and inspiring - I hope you will have a read and enjoy it as much as I do

    Midsummer is absolutely gorgeous! In general, I love this production and to see SFB perform feels like such a luxury. Here's my review. Has anyone else watched it yet?

    Before today, I had never seen any of Leonid Yakobson's works. Thanks to Boston Ballet I now know that I really like them 🙂 Have you seen any of these?

    Over three years ago at a session of ABT's National Training Curriculum for teachers, I had the pleasure of admiring Trisha Wolf’s clean technique and gorgeous feet as we challenged ourselves in a Level 1 ballet class. Afterward, we remained connected through social media and I ended up learning something new about her: she is an accomplished pianist.

    There is no excuse to not watch The National Ballet Canada at least once over the next few months...they are providing programs to stream for free! I'll be writing short reviews of each as they become available which may help you decide if it's your cup of tea 🙂 Here's the review for Modern Masterpieces.

    I can't remember a moment in my life when ballet was *not* a part of it. So I love hearing about how those who enter the dance world later in life stumble upon it. And am encouraged when their passion leads them to decide to not only stay in it, but to become even more involved. Here is an editorial we published today that many may be able to relate to.

    I watched this performance the other night via zoom per invitation from Marcello Angelini - what a treat! Here's my review of The Lost Nutcracker by Luciano Cannito as well as Ma Cong and Joshua Peugh's ballets that were also on the program.

    😂 There was no mention of it at the press conference. I know they are touring it in Spain the first half of 2021 and I'm really hoping that it makes its way across borders be them physical or digital. I will definitely let you know if find out!

    I think Joaquín De Luz's Giselle is brilliant in so many ways. I can't wait to watch it succeed worldwide! Here's my review of the world premiere.

    I had the opportunity to see the culminating performance of Duncan Lyle Dance's residency this fall at Kaatsbaan. The majority of the dancers are corps members of ABT, so it was nice to see them shine in a different setting. I had never seen Lyle's works before the five in this program; they weren't all for me, but I loved "The Acquisition"! Here's my review of the entire show

    I watched Forsythe Elements and was disappointed that no complete ballets were shown; here's my review of the program. I'm guessing the rest of the digital season will be similar. What did everyone else think?

    I felt the company was a lot stronger in the Ashton works than in Balanchine's, but I suppose that's to be expected? There is definitely some young talent to keep an eye on, though! Here's my review of Program 2.

    Yesterday's opening night performance was absolutely stunning! I believe it's time for Compañía Nacional de Danza to shine again in the international spotlight. Here's my review.
