The email just says arrival/ registration information and then Monday 8th at 5pm. The three attachments don’t really seem to stay anything else about times or dates. I just thought it would be early on a Monday before the course starts, I’m going to contact them.

I would definitely check this. That is maybe an error. They tend to be v quick if you email about this type of thing :)

My dd's very excited and a little apprehensive for junior summer intensive, and has asked roughly how many students attend the junior intensive?

It was about 100 last year, they’re divided into 5 or so groups I think.

Yes thank you very much! Did the "sharing of work" last a long time? Could they pack before and therefore leave rather quicly?

It was from 2-3.30pm and then we left straight after. They were quite keen for a quick departure from what I remember!

Thank you. Apparently your child attended last year. Do you remember what time they were expected to arrive on the day before the SI? And what about the representation at the end? Was it on saturday morning or afternoon? I'm trying to plan things a little since we will be coming from France.

Hello, last year they could arrive between 2-4pm (anytime during those times) and the ‘sharing of work’ started at 2pm on the final day. I hope that’s helpful 😊

  5. My DD did both @sunrise81 as we were lucky enough that, location and time wise, it worked. She did Elmhurst YD since Y4 and loved it. She really misses it, made some lovely friends and it was our first real taste of anything like this. We found it very nurturing, and not in the slightest bit pressured. This may be down to the teacher, the mix of students, I am not sure. She did the Easter Residential too, which was lots of fun. She did RBS JAs from Y5, She also loved this. They're made to feel special, they get invited to some lovely events (as you will know), they learn a lot about physiology and some vital back to basics stuff. She was really encouraged to apply for voc schools and see things on a wider scale.

I am not sure I am helping, as she loved them both! Quite a different 'feel' and approach, but both some of the loveliest experiences that she's had so far :)

The only thing I would say is, living where we do, and at the centres ours were at, they didn't get the same (performance) opportunities as the London/Bhm JAs and Bhm YDs.

Wonder if it will be over the next few days, since YBS have posted to day summer intensive applications open in December

Although if they were sent today it might get deleted in the mass of Black Friday/Cyber Monday' emails that are cluttering up inboxes 😩😃

  7. The results the next day, I think, last year (certainly for at least one of the centres). However, this was just for the scholarship. If your student isn't offered a scholarship and they apply anyway, for a paid place, then those results will come out with the rest, which are probably around the end of March/beginning of April I think.

I read it as between 2-4pm. I assume it’s because people are coming from far away? We are aiming for 2pm but if the traffic is bad it could be more like 4pm!

Did you get there ok and get your daughter dropped off, @Elbows? Have you heard from her and has she settled in ok? I hope so.

Yes my child is on the junior course and also did it last year too. Underatandable your dd is nervous but she will soon settle Im sure and really enjoy it! My child is so excites to go agaih this year 😚

My DD is also going this year. From my experience they tend to be kept so busy so don’t get much time to feel lonely. It’s also quite a short course too, she’ll probably feel like she’s just arrived when you turn up to collect her. I hope she has a fab time.

Hi everyone just looking for a few bits of advice!

What is involved in the Friday showing?

Also, is it fairly easy to keep in touch with your child do they get there phone back quickly in the morning?

    Any other advice greatly appreciated!

Not 100% sure of the plan for Friday yet, but can help re: phones. They’re allowed them after breakfast, through the day and then hand them in back in before bedtime (which I assume changes depending on their age).

For those that have been and dropped off and collected.....is parking OK at school? We are driving down from the north!

And the parents showing says to be there at 9am.....does it start at that time? And again is parking OK?

My DD will also be travelling from the North, after a v quick turnabout from YBSS this coming weekend! I hope it’s obvious where to go when we get to Richmond etc.

This is us - my DD isn’t ready to be away from home so we didn’t even think of applying for vocational and we’re sticking to associates. I know it’s a huge long shot but I’m hoping the kids who’ve been offered vocational places take them and a Mids place comes up for her!

I think there should be some movements

based on that. There definitely will be children who plan to accept a vocational offer, but who have received a Mids offer today, and will be/need to hand one back. I hope it works out in your favour.
