  1. Sophie Allnatt at RBS is on Instagram as Ballet coaching with Sophie. She is a brilliant teacher and all round lovely person.
  2. I think that will be tough. I’ve not heard f anyone wanting to leave and I know a girl who has been offered a place.
  3. I thought there were 17 or 18 but I can only remember 16 names! There could be someone I’ve missed or there may have been 17 before the girl left last September.
  4. Last year there were 6 new London SA1 students. A couple were MAs from other centres and 1 left after a couple of classes but wasn’t replaced. in July time there was an offer from the waitlist that wasn’t taken up. So quite a few new places.
  5. I’m not surprised! So unnecessary and whatever decision each child’s parents make you are relying on other people (and young girls) to be thoughtful and considerate of each other’s feelings in a very high pressure environment. One child’s huge confidence boost might be another’s knock down if they happen to hear about it. Just not necessary.
  6. Elmhurst released results in the middle of the 2 day WL finals? When will these schools start to think about the impact of this sort of thing on the children involved. They are 10 & 11.
  7. Could anyone tell me how much the fees are for BiBS? It says on the website they communicate them after application. Thanks,
  8. Thanks. I will check the size she has in white. It might be bigger than I remember.
  9. Everyone in Mids has to re-audition for an SA place. Last year there were just under 100 auditioning in London for WL/SA (it’s the same audition. It’s just a straightforward ballet class with the standard flexibility stuff you’d expect. I think there are now 4 SAs who were not in the the programme anywhere before and a couple who have moved from other centres. Some MAs moved centre, 1 or 2 seem to have opted to leave the programme and a few didn’t get a place for SA but I’ve been successful elsewhere.
  10. We had this with a variety of makes for a good few years. Eventually a good fitter in the London Bloch store recommended trying some russian pointe shoes due to the her feet and she had some success with Grisko but ultimately has settled on R Class. We get shoes from our local stockist now but have been everywhere!
  11. THere is a dance shop in Westcliff (Essex) that stocks them now) its called Danceland at Dalbys
  12. What are the timetabled hours like? I am wondering if it is commutable.
  13. This is amazing and gives me hope! DD is year 10 and not at Voc school but hoping to be successful at upper school auditions.
  14. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Meglio-Latex-Exercise-Pilates-Physio/dp/B071YDKR6Z/ref=asc_df_B071YDKR6Z/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=205160974284&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=14429841060866022441&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1007091&hvtargid=pla-420849768360&th=1&psc=1 It's cheaper to get the band from Amazon. Delivery from the RBS place is extortionate.
  15. This is very reassuring, my DD (non vocational and going into year 10), has followed with interested and slight apprehension as many of her peers have jetted off to many different international and uk intensives over the summer break some starting before normal school really finished and fitting in 4 or 5 different schools. Financially, it is out of our reach and must be out of most people's reach! My daughter has done one week at YBSS and is doing Ballet Boost next week. She has also had some privates and done some pilates classes. I hope this is enough to ensure she is in a good position to return to class in September.
  16. We were finding the same - tried lots of pairs - and now she now R Class hard which seem to be better. Freed lasted barely any time but we didn't try the hard ones.
  17. We are still struggling to make a decision. I wish ENB would send some information out. I haven't been filled with confidence with the comments about ENB on this thread but I appreciate that this was a while ago.
  18. I put them in the washing machine on a hand wash cycle. I'd pribably puit vanish on the stains. THey come out fine.
  19. My daughter really enjoyed it, she said it was challenging and fun. She particularly loved Amelia O Hara's classes.
  20. London is always in age order but they don't use year groups. They usually start wth youngest and work up to oldest. My year 9 daughter did her SA sudition with mostly girls in year 10 and 11 girls as she was the oldest year 9 so there were only 6 left and they were put in with the older ones even though they weren't 'against' her.
  21. They haven’t done them yet. They will be fine. Last year 2 year 8 left for vocational school and 1 year 7 left for a different associate programme . I wasn’t aware of any getting assessed out.
  22. There will be a good proportion of year 7 spaces as all the year 8s will be able to move up plus a fair few year 7s (only 2 left in MA2.- pretty sure they will be fine in their assessments) there will probably be some year 8 spaces too as year 9 are a big cohort.
  23. There are only 2 year 8 in the class the rest are year 9 so at the end of the MA journey.
  24. Some people leave for various reasons so spaces come up and sometimes they make the class bigger. They don’t take many after year 7 just the odd 1 or 2. Currently 18/19 (I think) in MA2 at London. I think they took 16 in year 7.
