  1. PS: part of me is also very curious and which is why I want this wait to end already. My DD told me the panel did a lot of looking at the DCs at the beginning of the class. And I’ve always heard rumours of what they look for. My DD, much as I think she’s a lovely little dancer, would rate distinctly average on all the physical attributes that have been said RBS looks for - she’s not too tall but not too short, slim but not tiny, no swaybacks, no banana feet, so-so flexibility, long but not THAT long legs etc. The tiny DDs I saw during audition day were little but quite long legged proportionally. On paper and in theory, after the physical inspection, physically my DD should have slowly melted into the background after that first hurdle. She does have strong points in other aspects of ballet so I would say she might have a teeny tiny glimmer of a chance.
  2. I totally know what you mean. My DD was in the Thursday auditions and is not necessarily that tall (I would say on the taller size of average). If it’s true it’s in age order she was pretty much one of the bigger numbers of the group, and I think the bigger the number the younger, she looked like an absolute giant compared to the others. And bearing in mind this was Thursday, I saw girls who looked like they were 5-6 too - in fact, a lot did! Good news for the smaller girls is that I know a few girls who got places from auditions different centres (but at least 2 for London places 😫) and most of them looked absolutely minuscule. They look about 1-2 years younger than my own DD. Speaking of which I have been quite calm so far but getting a bit worried because I have heard of DCs getting London places from other audition venues and i keep thinking there’s already very few spaces in London. I know it’s a bigger centre but lots more audition there too 😓 I am seriously overthinking this but I’ve spoken to other mums who are getting equally worried. See? This is what waiting does to the mind! I’m sure RBS has some magic formula to allocate places by centre etc. but can’t help but be a bit worried - not that I am confident my DD would get a place (quite the opposite, but she’s still a little star in eyes).
  3. I think Wednesday was the second day. Wasn’t Monday a bank holiday? And I think they auditioned Tuesday to Friday.
  4. My money’s on results for year 6 and boys out today (first 2 days of London auditions anyway) and tomorrow years 4 and 5 (last 2 days). I might be wrong and they’ve actually spent Thursday and Friday last week getting all 4 days of results ready to be emailed today 😂
  5. That’s true I suppose. I guess I just wanted a few days off from refreshing my emails... 😁 Although I think I saw the London results referred to on this forum earlier on Facebook and if I’m not mistaken they didn’t audition in London.
  6. So I had a little look at last year’s JA thread and it looks like the last results before London were sent out on the 17th and none were sent on the 18th and 19th June (2-DAY GAP!! - the torture!). Then boys and year 6s received theirs on the 20th followed by the rest (year 5 and 4) on the 21st. I’m thinking none were sent out yesterday and I’m guessing none today - although happy to be proven wrong - which means a whole weekend of obsessing for a few (a lot?) of us and boys/year 6 Monday, followed by the rest on Tuesday. It’s almost like we can definitely start a World Cup-style sweepstakes on who can guess when London results are out, which I think a previous poster has also already mentioned 😆
  7. Did the lady’s DC audition in Birmingham for Birmingham? I think a previous post mentioned a Birmingham result but the DC auditioned in Bath?
  8. Even more unpredictable this year! Do you think they’re trying to play with our minds, sending a bit from every centre every so often? So far, that’s a few from everywhere apart from London, Leeds and Eastleigh. Although it is a bit worrying that it’s mostly yes’s and swl’s. I really hope they’re not saving the no’s for later! I only say this because we still haven’t heard 😞. Well done to the yes’s and swl’s!
  9. I’m so confused with the order - I thought that in previous years results came out in the order of the auditions by centre but they seem to be all over the place this year. I just hope they haven’t sent all the yes’s already 😞 Anyone heard from Leeds/Manchester/Birmingham/London yet? Either yes or no?
  10. I saw on Instagram that Just Ballet received a big order of Degas leotards last Friday - there should be quite a few size age 12 I reckon.
  11. My guess is week commencing 25th June but that’s just me guessing. Also, if your DC auditions in a different centre from the one you applied to attend (if lucky enough to get in), does the result go out with the centre where DC auditioned or the centre which DC intends to attend? Not the case for my DD btw - she auditioned where she intends to attend - just curious as I overheard some mums discussing this recently.
  12. For those who auditioned this week - did anyone notice what most were wearing? Or whether the panel mentioned any preference by any chance?
  13. Well my DD can only do side splits so I’m glad to hear there are a mix of those who can and can’t that get in. I have seen lots of photos on social media of DCs who are extremely flexible in all sorts of poses as they wait to go in for their audition (often one leg up in the air next to their heads!)
  14. Hoping to hear from those who auditioned at Eastleigh today? How was it? :-)
  15. Thank you very much for the welcome. I'm so glad to hear that the audition is a lovely experience for the children. As an adult, I think it would be quite daunting for me but I suppose kids are more relaxed about these things. I know this has been discussed in the previous year's thread but I was wondering for those who auditioned this year whether the format is still the same? Simple ballet class and a bit of improv (from the sounds of it)? It must be a challenging task for the panel and really hard to predict who gets in because there must be lots of talented little DCs out there full of potential. Not sure what we can do to make ours stand out as such? 😟
