  1. Good luck to yours. I asked the lady on the desk if group 2 had any year 3's in it and she said that there were not. However I definitely saw some girls in group 2 who compete with my daughter in the same groups at festivals?? So was your daughter's friend in the last group that my daughter was in? There were 4 boys in her group?
  2. Gosh that is far. We saw the year 4's come out, as ours went in. She is auditioning for Ballet Boost too. I can't see my daughter being accepted for all 3 so she just wanted to audition for everything in the vain hope she get's into one of them. I think she will be gutted if she doesn't get into at least one. Have tried to prepare her for the fact that might happen though. How many year 4's auditioned?
  3. That sounds about right. I have no idea how they choose, as they all looked similar in build, etc. It is such a long wait. Darkbeans. Is your daughter auditioning for Elmhurst in Plymouth this weekend?
  4. Hi. My daughter has already auditioned for year 4. We are waiting nervously. If you have any questions about the audition, please feel free to ask.😊
  5. My friend has a daughter in the year 4/5 class and that is what she said. They took in 14 students the year before last according to the report 9 girls and 5 boys . Not sure how accurate the information is.
  6. Did they say how many places there are in the yeAr 4/5 class ?? As I know they took 7 year 3’s last year for the class but not sure how many they take every year ?? Any one know how it works ??
  7. That’s brilliant xx what line was she in ?? I’m convinced it was by height xx
  8. Hi xx just finished the audition xx They did not have to do any splits, they did a straddle stretch etc also did the froggie on the back. 3 types of jump and barre work. They had them in lines of 4 behind each other. My daughter was in the front line, and it looked like they were arranged by height but can’t be sure. She thoroughly enjoyed it and is going to be gutted if she doesn’t get in. Going to be a long wait 😂😂
  9. a froggie is lying on their back with their feet together and they have to try and lower their knees to the floor whilst keeping their back straight. I think. to be fair that could be completely wrong as i am clueless xx (as my daughter keeps telling me)
  10. I really don't know what they are looking for? My daughter's ballet teacher says that a lot of it is body type? But i'm guessing that if they all have the body type then it will be based on musicality, poise and flexibility which means they will be doing stretches. probably similar to the JA experience day they did last year. I know they definitely look at their bare feet too. Who knows?
  11. My daughter will be auditioning this Friday. I can let you know after if you would like? My daughter can't do the box splits yet, so I hope not. I was told they do lots of different stretches and maybe froggies on their back? It is a minefield. Hopefully somebody who auditioned today in Newcastle might be able to give us some insight?
  12. Hi this is my first post. This may seem like a stupid question but my daughter is in year 3 and will be auditioning for both Royal ballet junior associates and elmhurst this year. She wears leather full soles in her normals classes and satin split soles for her festivals. Any advice on which shoes she should wear ?? What did your dd’s wear ?? Thank you in advance xx
