It’s a pity Tomas Mock is leaving, I would have thought him a good choice as Drosselmeyer

Relieved that The Unfriend was one of the discounted plays available and got just the type of seat I wanted at a great price so thank you for the heads up 🙂👍

It will be on sale 😊. I have now to find a way to bring it home (not glflying Ryanair it's a good start 😁)
Hopefully it'll be available on a range of merchandise...and the programme, it's a beautiful image

I couldn't identify who retrieved the fan but I was so impressed with the way that was done. I obviously knew the fan had flown off but the way it was handled by the male dancer was so, so professional. Did you see who it was? Because he deserves much praise. I saw the tankard go too and the worst thing is, just before that bit, in my head I was thinking, I wonder if anyone ever knocks those over? Then a second later, over it went. I think I need to stop thinking! That bit must be so tricky. I did wonder if it had been placed correctly? I thought Mendizabal was extremely good, followed by Dias. Though, Morera is still my number one.
The first tankard was placed way off centre and (from where I was viewing) too close to the second tankard so I knew one was going to get knocked. As mentioned above it was Stanislaw that recovered the fan. Much as I don’t want to see them have issues with things they are holding it’s always interesting to see how they’re retrieved and returned to the right place and I thought he did that very well.
I have to commend the guitar handling of the Basilios and, usually, Casper Lench during the entire run…I don’t think I saw it hit the floor once in fifteen shows I saw- 3

The ROH has just posted on Facebook that the Dante Project is a "brand new ballet". Who writes this stuff?
The same person that wrote that has very kindly informed me of a cast change in an opera performance they are welcoming me to despite me not having a ticket for that performance or any opera ever

Are the conditions for the returning of box seats the same as ordinary seats? It may be a good idea to return them to the box office asap as the chance of selling them on to the public and getting a refund will be better than with this limited audience

Oh dear, as soon as I'd read an internal email about the RMT's arrangements I go and see this news....Nutcracker double show days on 6th and 7th affected depending on where you're coming from...locals will be affected for opening night.

It happens to me, never at the ROH, but ALWAYS at the Nederlands Nationale Opera and Ballet (Amsterdam). I book a seat, and when it comes to payment just 30 seconds later it says "your seat is no longer available".
Almost every time it is just an issue of browser: I have noticed that this happens almost always with Mozilla Firefox. If I start again the same booking, choosing the same seat, this time with Chrome, there is no issue anymore and I can pay for the seat I have chosen.
So perhaps it is the same issue at the ROH website?
Years ago the Paris Opera website was facing similar issues, to an extent that nobody could imagine (sometimes an empty auditorium was mentioned as sold out on the booking site... then available again 10 minutes later with hundreds of seats to chose...). Now they seem to have solved it, I do not hear anymore about those kind of issues.
I had the ‘you’ve exceeded….’ message for a couple of months on my work computer (Chrome) and deleting the cookies for the site specifically, repeatedly logging out etc…it didn’t work and I had to book or even just look at availability using an incognito window until a couple of weeks ago it suddenly started working properly -
I made a note of all the mistresses and for the Sarah Lamb performances it was/probably still is Meaghan Grace Hinkis

I was very taken with a few of the dancers in unnamed “roles” yesterday afternoon - no way of telling from the cast sheet who they were. In particular one of the four men dancing in ragged clothes as ?urchins? ?scruffy street lads? yesterday afternoon really stood out and if he is an early career artist I would be keeping an eye out for him for the future. Is there more detail anywhere? Does anyone who knows the company well know who those four were? Seems odd that the briefly appearing (lovely) guitar players get a full credit, but not some of the standout dancers.
I’m going to assume you mean Marco Masciari…the others were Francisco Serrano, Liam Boswell and Harrison Lee.- 2

Natalia can’t even kiss Don Q goodbye at the end the same way as all the other Kitris 😆 She’s very special

All debuts going well so far…a particularly long second hold from Reece, Lukas as Espada was every bit as good as I’d hoped and lovely Mercedes from Annette

I’m finally getting to watch Beth in tomorrow’s matinee and getting into Paddington around 10:30am but I believe now some of the tube stations will be closed due to the demonstrations 😩 keeping my fingers crossed I make it.
Unless there's been more news since I last looked you shouldn't have a problem on the Bakerloo line from Paddington to Piccadilly or the route I take, Elizabeth line to Tottenham Court Rd and then walk from there.

The several mentions above of how many full Kitris Mayara Magri has danced and whether that's enough for her to feel okay doing a cinema relay (I think the consensus was six) have struck me as interesting.
How many times had Fumi danced Aurora before she did the cinema relay in place of Cuthbertson at very short notice? -
Katie Derham hosted the RB clip show on the telly at Christmas a few years back that featured SV

Sim asked why, I answered, as I said, let's not all fall out.
I do wonder about that cloth of gold though. We still had sweet rationing in 1953 I recall!
Official visits certainly aren't what they were. I wonder if the smell of mothballs (the furs) was overwhelming?
I bet the ushers had a hard time telling the regulars not to put anything on the ledge that night!!😮

As an aside, re the cast for a cinema relay... Yes, Nunez does have a recording of her and Carlos, but it does feel like a great shame that her and Vadim have not been shown to the world in these roles together, because what they created together was nothing short of magical.
Although they have been shown to the world in most of the other roles

From The Guardian:
The RMT union has reached a possible deal with train operators to resolve their long-running national rail dispute, allaying fears of a repeat of last year’s Christmas strikes.
The union, which represents 20,000 crew and station staff, has drawn up a “memorandum of understanding” (MOU) with employers to ballot members at the train operating companies over a deal which would backdate pay rises and give more guarantees over jobs.
