  1. TK Max or Homesense had some. I bought one for my Son going to Uni, £9.99
  2. I can recommend Centre Pointe. It is in Stockport, Manchester. Just off the motorway in Denton but traffic is heavy getting to classes after school.
  3. All the ballet classes at Centre Pointe are during the week. Maybe Miss Wright organises the classes that way to avoid clashing with associates as mentioned she is an RBS teacher. My dd is 8 and has been doing 1 grade a year getting a high distinction. 2yrs does seem a long time to spend on a grade if your dd picks it up pretty quickly babyballerina.
  4. Totally recommend Centre Pointe which is in Denton near Stockport.
  5. I was in the same position this time last year. I spoke to her old teacher and decided to look elsewhere when she confirmed there wouldn't be any other classes she could do to increase her ballet hours. I asked on here for recommendations for my area and then booked her into the summer school to see how she felt. I instantly saw the difference between the schools. She loved it and moved there from the September. We haven't looked back and she has come on so much in her new school and my dd is very happy.
  6. Is anyone's dc starting at Manchester yr4 in September? Does anyone know the times of the classes? My dd has just been invited into the festival team and waiting to give them an answer depending on Elmhurst times.
  7. Does anyone know the cost of the classes? I couldn't find the info on the website. Maybe I should have looked into this before applying ?
  8. Thank you. I don't know about the date change but it seems late when the classes are due to start in Sept. The email did say they were in the middle of rearranging the class times?
  9. Yay! Just got the email and it's a yes for my dd. Can't wait to tell her at school pick up. Good luck MrsMoo2 and anyone else waiting.
  10. My dd enjoyed the audition too MrsMoo2. She said it was very similar to the Royal audition but there was some free work as well. I asked her to show me what she did for this and as I am away she showed me on FaceTime. She started twerking! And then fell about the floor laughing. Thankfully she was joking and said she did pirouettes, I said but you can't do pirouettes, she said I know I just did my version of them and went on to demonstrate lots of spinning! She said they told them they would get the results within the week. Good luck to your son X
  11. How lovely! Just proves never to give up on your dream and keep on trying!
  12. What year will your dd be in September? I can find a list sent to me.
  13. Congrats to your child Rudolph, and so sorry for the no's this time x
  14. I think it's just ballet. The classes in Manchester are 1.15hr for year 4, think a bit longer for older children on Sat mornings. Yes the waiting is awful. Good luck x
  15. We have Elmhurst too on Sat, although I'm working again! Wasn't sure to wait to tell her or if it might make her more determined to do better ?
  16. It's a no for us too. Sorry to hear of the other no's. Onwards and upwards!
  17. Sorry to hear of your no BoyOhBoy, we are waiting and expect the same. You don't want them to be disappointed do you but at the same time want to give them every opportunity x
  18. Only received the email this morning with the details of the Audition on the 17th. Ours is at 1pm, group 1, for year 4
  19. When did you hear about your Elmhurst Audition MrsMoo2? We still haven't had an email but we did send the form off late x
  20. It says on the website the 17th June for Manchester auditions. We only sent the application off last Saturday but not heard anything yet.
  21. Thanks Splitz17, i am going away on Monday so have just sent off the application this morning.
  22. Does anyone know when the closing date is for the June Manchester Auditions? I did ask them in an email with a couple of other questions but they didn't answer that one.
  23. My dd had her audition yesterday and loved it. She is already saying she wants to have a go next year. I was working so her Dad took her but she was still full of it by the time i got home. She said most things were done in pairs across the room apart from leaps i think. They also did the froggy stretch, leg raises at the barre and the seaweed thing could be done sitting down or standing up. She got a notepad which was £3. I think her Dad got let off lightly there, i know i would have been fleeced for alot more! Best of luck to everyone still to audition.
  24. What fantastic news and an amazing position your son finds himself in. Bet you are all over the moon!
