    Hi All *** ONLY 4 PLACES LEFT *** We are again running our 3 day Christmas Ballet Intensive on the 28th/29th/30th December 2017. A MUST for all whom wish to keep in top physical, mental and technical shape for the important "Assessment" term, or for any ballet dancer wishing to go back to their school with an "edge" over the rest!     Dear Ballet Mum's / Dad's and Students We are offering a lovely 3 day or 6 day Ballet intensive course at the end of the summer to get your ballet technique in check, your fitness back up and iron out all those little niggles just in time for the new school term and the looming auditions.     Go to the barre practice rising and lowering with concentration on moving through your feet. With good posture and correct pelvis alignment. Feel the rotation of the legs coming from inside the hips! Do it slowly on Demi pointe then on pointe in 1st. Then at the barre practice releves in 5th all on Demi concentrating on the same things, then releve devant and derrière make sure you are transferring your weight to bottom cheeks on one leg. Don't snatch the foot move your body weight from leg to leg. lots of practice on Demi before you move onto practicing the same on pointe. hope this helps

    We are now registering interest for our Woodside Dance Retreat Ballet/Dance Associates. begining Sept 2017 Classes are held in Sevenoaks Kent, from 10am - 3pm on one Sunday per month. 8-12 year Classical set ( Audition only) 14 places 8-12 year Mixed genres group 14 places 13-18 year Classical set.     Dear aspiring ballet dancers. We are happy to announce that Olivia Cowley will be joining Ricardo Cervera, Edward Watson and Anita Young on this years Summer School at Woodside Dance Retreat. Our intention is to ensure every guest leaves motivated, with enhanced technique and artistry and having worked with some of the best classical dancers and teachers on the planet.     Thanks arabesque1 for you question. It is classical ballet mainly during the day, and then evening activities we offer a diverse range of other classes from contemporary, commercial and we even did a hip hop class last year which was great great fun. We feel it is important to embrace all styles of dance. Doing this will make you a better classical dancer. Dear, theother51, it was not intended to be said in a condescending way. We are just honoured, humbled and grateful to have them on-board. For your information, Hope Keelan and Anita Young both work at RBS, and as Bluebird22 rightly mentioned Anitia is so inspiring and Hope is also as lovely. Edward we know as possibly one of the greatest male dancers of our time, if not all time! (personal opinion only) Ex principal dancer David Yow of Elmhurst is as wise as they come and a perfect gentleman with so much knowledge to share. Ricardo is the Ballet Master of The Royal Ballet. We are running 2 weeks of incredible, exclusive, live-in International Summer Schools - Principals Weeks at our Exclusive Dance Retreat in Kent, England. We only take 12 guests and have some of the best teachers and dancers on the planet coming to teach for us. Plus we hit the West End for a show in a Limo, and go on location for Professional Photo Shoot. We are not the cheapest summer school, but think we offer value for money based upon the time our guests get with our guests teachers.     Hi There We are running our all inclusive live-in, exclusive International Summer School in Kent again. We have 2 Principals Weeks this year:- We have Edward Watson MBE (Principal RBC teaching 2 days), Hope Keelan (RBS), David Yow (Elmhurst) and Anita Young (RBS) on our first week. We only have 3 places left on this course. Our Second week see Edward back again for 2 days, Anita Young and the Royal Ballet Master Ricardo Cervera for 2 days. We only have 12 guests on each week, and we have a professional photo shoot and head to the West End in a LIMO. We are not the cheapest, but feel we have a Summer School to rival many others.     In 2017 Woodside Dance Retreat will be opening its gates once a month to Ballet enthusiasts aged 8-12 years old with its new Sunday Associates Programme . This is an opportunity for only 14 guests to be taught by our ex RBS and ex Classical dancer Nicola Moriarty. With nearly 20years of experience teaching Ballet, guests will be in safe hands. Nicola will work to compliment your existing training by covering all aspects of Classical Ballet technique, alignment, artistry, posture, musicality, strength and flexibility. The course will be two, 2 hour classes, (10am to 12pm) and (1pm-3pm). We will provide a locally sourced organic lunch and all sit for an hour to rest, share stories and discuss our art form in a lovely social environment Course dates are on the following Sunday’s:- 22nd January / 26th February / 19th March / 23rd April / 21st May / 25th June/ 16th July Course fee’s - £35 per day, or £210 for all 7 days. So you know they will get to us safely. xx We had one Guest fly in this Summer from Japan, she did not speak a word of English but slotted in perfectly with all the other guests and teachers!     Hi Armydancer Thanks for your question. As we only ever take 12 guests on our courses then the personal attention is second to none. This means the level requirement is not as much of an issue as everyone gets lots of attention, and lots of correction tailored for the specific needs. As the course is a live-in course we would normally have a minimum age of 13-14 years, however some younger ones are more mature and quite happy away from home.     Hi Dance*is*life We are running 2 live-in "International Summer Schools - Principals Weeks" in July 2017. We are running them back 2 back so your students could come for both weeks. We are based in Kent, about 60-70mins drive from either airports (subject to traffic) As we offer fully live-in all inclusive weeks, it is at the higher end of the Summer School budgets as we only allow 12 Guests to attend for maximum time with our Guest teachers.
