  1. Hi Everybody, I understand due to locality that this will probably only be of interest to a very small subset of people, but there will be a performance of various snippets from La Bayadere by the adult ballet class from the Crescent Arts Centre in Belfast on the 8th July. There will be two shows at 6:15pm and 7:15pm with tickets costing £10. All proceeds from this will go to the Alzheimer's Society. So if there are any Northern Ireland residents out there or anybody who might happen to be in Belfast at that time with an hour or two to spare, you would be more than welcome! 2. Sounds just like Danske Bank to me Janet. It's a really great service. I love the Paym system whereby you can transfer money using someone's phone number via the app. Really handy if you don't have your wallet and your friend foots the coffee bill.
  3. Thanks Janet. I also noticed that there will be a showcase of highlights from Margot Fonteyn's performance in the 1959 Sleeping Beauty: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p01s6vn9 It is however, on at the inconvenient time of 2.00am Wednesday morning, so it'll be one to record most likely.
  4. And Russell Howard's good news..... But yes, I just checked and Northern Ballet 1984 is on Sunday at 7:30 and Bolshoi's Babylon straight after at 9.
  5. Indeed. Regardless of your training, dance or otherwise, you gain a wealth of skills that are utile well beyond a career directly in that field. Often we may not even be aware that we possess some of these.
  6. Wonderful Dance*is*life! I think the unwavering passion that you have held for dance all these years and how it has influenced your very being is truly admirable.
  7. This is really strange, never heard of anything like it before. I myself on rare occasion "need" to crack my hip in arabesque in order to gain extra height but this is very distinct from what you describe. The only thing I can think of is that it might be pulling of tendons due to a muscular imbalance or something similar. Does this popping happen after you have thoroughly warmed up or only when you hold arabesque "cold"? Also, have you maybe had hamstring problems in the past that may have left you susceptible to some sort of imbalance? If it is not painful then it should hopefully not be anything to worry about, but as with all medically related issues if it is troubling you, it can never hurt to go to your GP and have your mind put at ease!
  8. Hi Janet, Thank you for the welcome! New to the forum and on my ballet journey.
  9. Seconded. Of course it will take some time and work to reach your "full foot potential", but as a starting point your feet are very nice!
