  1. Central have a short course at Easter: https://www.centralschoolofballet.co.uk/dance-classes-courses/short-courses/11-years/
  2. Friendship House is very close to the school as well!
  3. Central have Spring and Summer still open
  4. 3 weeks is quick for RAD results, it’s usually 5-6 weeks. Is there an expected date on the ISTD website for the exam session, or might your teacher know this?
  5. Central School of Ballet are starting a new Junior Associate Programme for children in years 4-6, might be worth looking at this maybe, their main Associate Programme is for 11yrs+, audition is usually May/June time I think
  6. Equally we have friends at CSB associates who have loved their time there and are moving onto the full time course. I suspect you will find plenty of support for both so in the end it’s personal choice.
  7. No experience of ENBS as it’s relatively new, however can’t speak highly enough about Central Associates. As previously said, it’s a whole days training plus extra’s at no additional cost. Really can’t fault it! Does anyone know how many ENBS took full time from this year’s Associates?
  8. Yes I think applications are still open and I believe it is a mix of age and ability. Definitely a student centred programme!
  9. Definitely consider Central Associates, very good programme!
  10. It is an excellent programme, 2 hours Ballet plus Contemporary and Pilates, plus older students also have a repertoire/ pas de deux class. There are also extras like the induction day at the beginning of the year and a creative day, no extra charge for these! Would highly recommend.
  11. Central School of Ballet also run half term courses
  12. Central also run an excellent Summer Course but again not residential
  13. Central School of Ballet are running an audition preparation course for 14-16yrs in half term.
  14. The ballet at Rambert is very strong and not typical of a Contemporary school, just because the audition video was simple does not mean it is not considered. The timetable is 50/50 ballet and contemporary, unique in this country. All prelim auditions tend not to be too difficult, it isn’t an indication of the standard schools are looking for.
  15. Absolutely, it’s counter productive actually and most vocational schools don’t allow students to attend other weekly classes.
  16. How do you know they didn’t?
  17. The short courses at Central are predominantly for under 16’s as most that audition for the Degree Course are in Year 11, therefore they start the Degree aged 16. I have known older students go to their Summer Course, always worth asking schools rather than assuming!
  18. I would consider applying for an Associate Programme, most have bursaries available
  19. Central School of Ballet definitely run courses for 8yrs+
  20. If I understand correctly, you attended the final audition but haven’t received any outcome, ie not a yes, no or waiting list? I think at this stage that is totally unacceptable and I would go elsewhere!
  21. The timetable is quite different at the moment, if you email I’m sure they’ll give you an idea of the timetable for September even if it’s not confirmed.
