Aaawww shame its for 14+ Great post tho Jane as without the ballet forum im A mum with no clue!!! My boy has a place at White lodge international summer school and would love to have a nosey at elmhurst too xx Unfortunately he's only 10 11 in April Anyone know how we can get to look at elmhurst as we missed deadlines for any open days or auditions !! We actually applied for summer school at 11.50pm With deadline of midnight 1st dec!!!! A Mum with totally no idea of how to take pictures and only armed with my I phone!!! We applied just to see and if honest totally forgot about it as My son was selected to apply for an academic scholarship at his school in jan so we were stressing over that as he was invited out of the blue!! The highest academic accolade being so talented in maths and English !!! On waiting for info on his academic scholarship I was dumbfounded with an email that he has an invite to summer school !! Yikes he must have known how to stand in the photos bless I got him out of bed at 11 pm!!! Found it googling and looking for dance camps!! And didn't want to miss a chance of a summer camp opportunity with his new found love of ballet x So new to all this im self taught so far with no idea about ballet and the dance world and no links to dance ???? !! A talented Irish fsncing boy who swapped literally months ago to ballet and is flying!!! Wow am I learning fast , and any leads like this one on the forum are much appreciated although this one is 14 plus Relying on the forums and Google for help thank you Jane Read lots of useful info so far Thanks to everyone x New ballet oy mum xx

Hi I'm new to forum too not doing Facebook and social media I recently found this a great place to read up on ballet as im leaning quick and fast. Just found out my boy has a place at white lodge summer school today too yikes he's sooooo excited x To reply to your post glad there's another new yorkshire ballet boy mum ive literally joined tonight !! I have a ballet boy at Northern ballet on the CAT (center of advanced training) he was one of the junior boys you may have seen in nutcracker in leeds !! (He loved it) Lots of boys at Northern ballet great atmosphere he went to an open day age 9 last jan Loved it so left his Irish dance classes in manchester and jumped right in!! Fab atmosphere purpose built building! live pianist in all classes!! my son loves to dance can't get enough. We live I sheff not sure where in yorkshire you are but it's worth the travel can be over an hour in traffic although closer midweek straight from school and I double back to collect, but sooooo worth it. Maybe look at associate classes if your son is only 8?then do the CAT open day next jan ready to join when your son is 10?? Depending on his birthday of course xxx Good luck to your ballet boy xx

Hi New member to this forum and my first post. The suspense killed me and no we didn't find out Friday but I got the email today at 2pm. I really wish you lots of luck I would presume no's and waiting lists are first ??as it would be un professional the other way round as word would probably spread quick ?? I have everything crossed for you if you've still not heard !! No news is good news they say xx Totally unexpected for us and I can only think as some of the forums read they really must go off photos !!!??? as our main back ground in dance is Irish dancing and my son has only been training ballet serious since April!!! we also only sent in the application 23.50pm before the midnight deadline with totally unprofessional photos on my iPhone maybe my 10 yr old son knows more than I think about how to stand? I haven't got a clue. Anyone out there know how many apply? How many places there are? Good luck to anyone still waiting bless you xx and all my love to the 'no's'
