  1. I do seem to remember someone from a few years ago whose dd was offered an MDS for Tring upper school but I think that was an exception rather than the norm. I could be wrong though.
  2. I’m pretty sure they announced it as the ‘Royal Ballet at its finest…’ but I wasn’t paying too much attention to the announcer to be honest.
  3. Thank you I do have Sky and just tried to download it from On Demand. It says it's Macmillan/Naghdi/ 2019 but when you play it it's just the Urals one from last night. I feel a thunderous email coming on. That’s interesting! I will reply to their email stating that. Thank you.
  4. I emailed Sky about last night’s mix up. They told me that programming was ‘subject to change’ and apparently the RB one is available to download from Sky OnDemand. Might be helpful for those who aren’t watching on Freeview.
  5. I’m actually more than a bit gutted! Had been looking forward to it all day ☹️
  6. I think the main thing to consider is where your daughter really wants to go and if this is one of the places she has already been offered. Are you dependent on funding auditions for Laine and NBS? If she already has a place at her first choice and funding isn’t an issue, I would cancel the ones she wants to cancel. Presumably they are not high on her list of where she wants to go as she wants to cancel them and with places already secured, you might as well save yourself some money on travel.
  7. Thanks so much! I have never heard of that group but will definitely check it out.
  8. Thank you! I hadn’t thought of that possibility as well.
  9. Thank you both. That’s very helpful.
  10. I have a dd in vocational upper school and am thinking ahead. If fortunate enough to get offered a short term contract post graduation, what do dancers do in terms of living arrangements if the contract is away from home? I’m thinking specifically of short term contracts, less than a year/six months where it would be difficult to get a rental contract. Many thanks in advance.
  11. Apologies… ballet pro seem to be wholesale distributors of R-Class although I’m sure if you contacted them they could direct you to the shops they supply.
  12. @FlexyNexypm’d you x
  13. I also read somewhere last week that they were trying to allow 2500 VIPs to avoid quarantine restrictions to attend the final/semi-final!!! It makes very little sense to me. I really feel for your dd and her peers- that’s so disappointing after the past two years that they have had! It just feels like we are never going to be out of this!
  14. If you want a good night’s sleep, I would advise against the Ibis Budget hotel. It’s very close to the studios but I would honestly sacrifice that in order to be able to sleep. The Ibis Budget has laminate floors and the sound carries. Spent two very noisy nights there - NEVER AGAIN!!
  15. My dd has also done a few of Laetitia’s classes and absolutely loved them. She is such a lovely teacher and my dd got so much out of the classes. I would highly recommend them.
  16. Hi, I can’t answer any questions about ENBS but I can about the DaDA. There is a sliding scale based on your household income and this decides if you’re entitled to any help with living costs. The scale can be found on this link https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/dance-and-drama-awards-income-scales/dance-and-drama-awards-income-scales-2018-to-2019-academic-year Hope this helps x
  17. Yes, but it is proving impossible to get a covid test for us. Can you get one at your nearest airport? Just a thought, as some of these centres have sprung up to allow people to test before travel.
