Whilst it is no help whatsoever to all the question regarding photos and form filling, I would like to say good luck to all those applying for lower and upper schools. Takes me back to 11+ years ago when we started on process. Unfortunately at the time I has never heard of Balletcoforum. This is a wonderful resource and the support is unique. Now through the other end with a professional DS. But it doesn't stop there ...

We have tickets in the amphitheatre which were originally bought for my son and his girlfriend. Unfortunately, due to work/performance commitments they cannot get the time off to make the journey from Warsaw (Polish National). If I spot you from our dizzy heights I will come and say hello - it will be great to meet someone from the Forum.

I'm also going to be there on the 15th. Can't wait to see Frankie and Ed.

Highly recommend the Mock Turtle cafe near Pool Valley in Brighton. It's been there for years and hasn't changed it menu. Great cream teas and their meringues are heavenly. I don't know how much the tea was as it was included in the price of the room. Therefore the swim (and tea) was extremely expensive!!!! If anyone is ever in Warsaw I can recommend afternoon tea at the infamous Bristol Hotel. You don't get a massive amount but at less then £10 is it worth it. Lovely room restored to an Art Deco style complete the a pianist. My god daughter is a pastry chef in London and I will ask her for her professional option on the best teas in town.

One of the things that really annoys me (there are a few) is the 30 minute intervals. I get the feeling this is so that the diners can have another course, bars sell more food and drink, more ice cream sales. Mind you, 30 mins does mean I can go out a grab a sandwich or coffee from Pret or indulge in a ginger ice cream from ROH.

All this talk of afternoon tea could lead to us meeting somewhere, not necessarily at the ROH. I live on the south coast but happy to travel to London. Anyone interested?

Yesterday I stayed at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, swam in the infinity pool on the roof and had afternoon tea (no champagne option). The view is magnificent but the tea wasn't!

I suggest you look on the YMCA or airbnb or hostelworld websites. Also some of the universities rent out rooms during the vacation.

I can only tell you how the process worked at RBS US a few years ago. In the autumn term the graduates had to list the companies that were of interest to them and then they had an interview to discuss their choices. Then it was up to the them to arrange auditions of which most of these were open so RBS students were on a level playing field with everyone else at the audition. It cost us £££ in flights, accommodation etc. On his own initiative my DS did make a DVD but it would have been less stressful if the school had made this process part of the graduate year. As for visits from AD's, I can only remember him mentioning a couple. I would say that the majority of his year group found their jobs via the audition process.

I don't know of any schools in Hove however, if his parents would be willing to travel to Worthing (20 minutes by car) then I can recommend the Jean Butterworth School of Dance. My DS went there from the age of 6, did his grades etc. If you want any further information then please PM me. I will ask around to find out if there any any schools in Hove that do RAD training/exams.

Such sad news. Deepest sympathy to her family. She was so inspirational and nurturing during her time at RBS.

I stand corrected! Ok so it is always UK companies in this order - RB, BRB, ENB then others outside London, European, North America, South America, rest of the world. If anyone had secured a contract in Australia or New Zealand they would have been listed last.

When compiling the list they list UK companies first, European companies next and then the rest of the world depending on the distance from London!

Although I wasn't at the Linbury performances so therefore did not see the programme, in other years the * beside the name usually indicates that the pupil had been an Associate. However, the information isn't always correct as my son was a JA, attended another vocational school and then the Upper School and there was never an * beside his name!
