  1. Sounds fantastic - can't make this one but would be interested in future dates if they do more. Good luck!
  2. Wow I'm not sure I realised your dd had got into White Lodge, huge congratulations ๐ŸŽ‰
  3. There will be a meeting for all parents and children at the beginning then parents leave but the finish time is dependent on how far from the venue you live. Those furthest away have their press photos taken earliest so they can get away.
  4. I would be very puzzled too. Really strange!
  5. DD1 was 13 when she attended, very petite at the time and July born. She did quite a lot of pointe work during the week although was only working at RAD Intermediate at the time. There were some very talented dancers from many countries in the classes. We couldn't manage the longer course this year but may well apply for future intensives.
  6. DD1 attended for one week last year and the ballet class was split into two groups and when we watched was around 15 dancers. Character and Contemporary etc were bigger but not overly so in my opinion and there was certainly individual attention and corrections. She loved the week!
  7. We had exactly the same situation with LCB. Both of my DDs got through the Day 1 cuts and got to Finals (second time auditioning for both) but neither of them was offered a place either in the Main Cast or the tour. It was particularly disappointing for DD1 as she is now too old to audition again. She has performed in EYB twice and loved it and it has helped her get over the disappointment of LCB.
  8. Ps rehearsals at weekends are usually six hours (with breaks) - 11-5pm, 12-6pm, 1-7pm and 2-8pm were all used last time. There were also a couple of 4.30-8.30pm sessions on Fridays.
  9. It's a practical issue - they usually rehearse in local schools and dancers quite often travel a fair way for each Production so inevitably they need to rehearse at weekends. With there being quite a few Productions each year all over the country it's not possible for all rehearsals to be in school holidays, with the probable exception of summer holiday events. For example last year my DDs did Swan Lake in August and it was two consecutive weeks of Monday - Friday rehearsals followed by the following week Thursday night run through on the stage, then dress rehearsal Friday afternoon, first performance Friday night and two more performances on the Saturday. More recently DD1 performed in Oxford. The performance schedule was the same but rehearsals were Fri-Sun early May, then Weds-Sun of half term, then Fri-Sun of the first weekend in June (the week before the Performance). DD1 is at Tring CBA and as it's fortnightly she only had to miss one Sunday. DD2 is at Central and would have had to miss too many Saturdays to make it feasible.

    EYB dates

Oh bless her! Unfortunately we could only manage one in this Production so DD1 got the chance as a) she had fewer clashes and b) next year she will be focusing on GCSEs so unlikely to have the time for another EYB ๐Ÿ˜ช. She was a Busby Berkeley Girl and Party Guest. The Stars were fabulous, you must be very proud.

    EYB dates

Totally agree. Wasn't it just fabulous? DD1 had a similar length journey and it was full on but so worth it to see the beautiful Production last night and all those smiling faces. She and her sister also did Swan Lake in Wimbledon last summer which they loved. It's a bit addictive ๐Ÿ˜‚
  12. There are also quite major roadworks going on Tring from this weekend so may be worth allowing a little extra time if you can.
  13. It's also publicised on Instagram although it's a relatively new account (launched February) and "only" has just over 3,500 followers so far. As SissoneDoublee says, there are some fairly eminent schools supporting it this year so I guess we'll see where it goes from here.
  14. That only sounds right if they have set up the groups in "reverse order" for this round of auditions, ie Group 1 being the most senior. DD1 joined Group 4 in September (having auditioned in Group 5) and absolutely loves it! She has just passed RAD Intermediate and Grade 6. Good luck!
  15. Going on past experience, results usually come out in order of audition date. So if Bath was the first audition centre, results will have come out from that audition first regardless of where the training will take place. London auditions are, I believe, usually last to take place. I expect results will be soon though, this week I would have thought as there are fewer audition centres for Mids/SAs than there are for JAs, where the results can come out over several days.
  16. Also do bear in mind that the Associate schemes run in term time only (sometimes through half term) so 6 lessons a term works out as every other week in reality.
  17. Wow @Tiaramum that sounds like you have news worth celebrating?? (Whatever you decide to do). If I'm understanding right then huge congratulations to your DD ๐ŸŽ‰

    Move It 2019

Our girls really enjoyed it but had no experience of what it was like before which may have helped. They would be happy to go just to be able to watch all the showcases and use the Acropad. They weren't too worried about the shopping side or queuing for autographs or talking to schools. I was surprised not to see more recognisable brands there, but relieved not to be getting my purse out every five minutes ๐Ÿ˜‚.

    Move It 2019

We saw him briefly. He was billed to be on the main stage session at 3.30pm so we were having a little break and wandering around the stands, returning at 3.25pm only to find he was already dancing and they'd started the session a fair bit early. The twenty seconds or so we caught was beautiful though! It was our first experience of Move It and I doubt it will be our last. Like @Clarkd3 we will try to book classes next year.
  20. Central Preps now get two reports a year which include written feedback from both ballet and contemporary teachers as well as "scores" (off the top off my head ranging from very good to weak with good and satisfactory in the middle) for technique, musicality, performance, etiquette and attendance. Face to face meetings with the teachers are offered to pupils that after the assessment haven't been asked to move up the following year, i.e. those who are reauditioning or repeating.
  21. @sunrise81 we are in exactly the same boat (not RBS but other good Associate schemes). I think it's just that competition for places is so tough. There are lots of other good summer intensives to try for so hopefully you will still get a great one. I'm hoping we get a holiday! Commiserations though, sounds like your DD is a brilliant dancer.
  22. I saw a post on social media today stating results would be out a week today. Good luck everyone.
  23. @AMP just Mids and I think the application fee is the same regardless I'm afraid. I agree with those who have suggested calling them. I've always found them very friendly and at least you'll know
  24. @AMP I know this won't help but have just checked my email and it also says "White Lodge and/or Mid Associate Programme". Definitely worth contacting them. Good luck!
