  1. But late notice I guess but there is an Open Evening tonight at The Hammond 5pm- 8pm for both lower & upper school. There is also an upcoming Year 5 Taster Day next month where current year 5s can spend a whole day at the school taking part in classes. You have to book in advance for that one.
  2. It could also mean that they have chosen (as many leading independent schools do) to offer IGCSE which isn't recognised in league tables.
  3. I find it quite sad that on another non dance related forum whilst giving advice on how to measure a teen for a bra & possible stockists for small back sizes I was asked if I was concerned about my 13 year old Dds size (28D) She's developed a bit earlier than some of her peers but thats not at all big, I've seen 13 year olds who are much bigger than her.
  4. My dd does know a few others going but I'm sure would be happy to make contact. She is 13 though (yr 8) For safety reasons I do monitor her email & social media.
  5. I guess my point to the OP is that what SAB are offering their 6-10 year old students isn't vastly different to our system of Associate classes & that even there full time intensive training starts later. (& rightly so) I do find it interesting that they require all girls aged 11& above to take pointe shoes to the audition which seems rather young to me.
  6. The OP was talking about 6-7 year olds. US 6th grade is around age 11, the age at which our vocational schools take in from. As SAB students are placed in levels not according to age it's diffucultvto day at what stage in their programme students would be here but daytime classes are required from their Intermeduate b level which seems to be the 6-7th year.
  7. For the first four years SAB training is part time starting at 2 classes per week leading up to daily after school classes. Even their full time programme provides no academic provision, students have to homeschool online which wouldn't be possible in the UK with the different structure of our Gcse exams.
  8. Singing4Dancers is run by experienced vocal coach Craig Faulkner who has years of experience helping dancers to overcome their fears of singing & teaching them how to improve their vocal technique using the renowned Estill Voice Training techniques, both in private practice & teaching for colleges such as Doreen Bird, Mountview, LIPA, MADD & Hammond. He has a few slots available during the Easter break for private coaching either in Stoke-on-Trent or Birmingham. The college audition season is pretty much over for this year but any graduate year students preparing for agent showcases or professional auditions please get in touch to see how we can help you. Email craig@singing4dancers.co.uk Special student rates available.
  9. If there is anything at all we can do, however small, to help make life easier at this time please ask.
