  1. Bloch serenade are my favourite shoes however that is purely sentimental-they were my first pointe shoes. I often consider getting my pointe shoes fitted properly at Freed but I've been using Blochs for fourteen years now-I'm not sure how well I'd adapt to different pointe shoes
  2. Can anyway recommend a website where I can advertise for a freelance dance teacher as I desperately need a RAD qualified teacher in order to get my dance school venture up and runnning? Thanks, Rachael-Marie
  3. Thank-you Tulip, I just wish there were more adult dance schools outside of London so more adults can benefit from the advantages of ballet.
  4. Thank-you for the support. I wanted to set-up an adult dance school because I returned to dancing after university and was so frustrated with not being able to find a ballet or tap class which concentrated on my needs as an adult learner. Many schools are very supportive of their adult learners, which is fantastic, but have so many children's exam and festival classes that I think adult learners can sometimes feel almost lost among the many classes. I am not offering classes at the moment as I am completing my teacher training but I will need to recruit a qualified dance teacher soon (preferably RAD) so I can start operating my school in January/February time. If anyone knows of any good websites where I can recruit a dance teacher please let me know. Thanks. Rachael-Marie
  5. Hi everyone! I am so pleased to have found the Balletco forum as it seems like a lovely supportive group of people. I will be setting up a dance school for adults from the end of January/early February and I just wondered what other people thought of the idea. It won't be attached to a children's dance school as I want to concentrate solely on teaching adults. I will be offering ballet and tap classes for beginners and improvers. I wanted to offer classes in a non-competitive environment where adults can receive the maximum level of attention and concentration from their teacher. I aim to be up and running in February and will be offering classes in Berkshire and Oxfordshire. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you are interested in the classes or have any helpful advice (I am always looking for useful advice!) Rachael-Marie
  6. Hi everyone! I've just joined Balletco forum and am so pleased to find that there is an adult ballet discussion board. I am setting up my own dance school for adults offering ballet and tap and I just wondered what other people think of the idea. My school will operate in Berkshire and Oxfordshire and will not be attached to a children's school. It will be a dance school solely for adults- I want to offer a non-competitive environment providing beginner and improvers ballet and tap classes. I will be renting out studio space so it should be quite a nice environment with ballet barres, mirrors and wooden sprung flooring. Please get in touch if you are interested in attending the classes, just curious or have any advice (I am also looking for advice as I will be running the school as a sole-trader!). Thanks, and its great to hear of so many adults dancing. Rachael-Marie.
