    Washing tutu!!

Thanks everyone! I got the starch & brightening powder from Wilkos but am waiting for a sunny day so I can hang them on the washing line outside! I'm abit worried about the starch aspect, do you have to iron to activate the stiffening process? Was thinking I could maybe starch then hang upside down & blast with a hairdryer!!! x

  4. Anyone got any tips for washing /refreshing white tutu please? I have put in the washing machine once & it went limp & lack lustre!! Now have 20 that need cleaning for a school show - supposed to be beautiful white snowflakes but they currently look like that horrible inbetween stage when the snow's turning a bit sludgey!! Can't really afford to buy 20 new ones & the area I'm in the parents won't be in a position to pay either! Thanks in advance xx

  6. I have been asked to teach a Swan Lake workshop for my class of Primary kids (KS1) & wondered if anyone knows of any teachers resources I could buy for this - or anyone got ideas!! They are a mixture of boys & girls probably most with no ballet experience!! I don't want the boys to thnk it's too girly!! Thanks
  7. Just wondering what other teachers thought of the RAD pre-school syllabus "Dance to their own tune"? I currently teach "Melody Movement" pre-school syllabus but am thinking about buying this also! Thanks! x

    IDTA Exams

I didn't realise other exam boards didn't allow teachers in either, I've only ever done UKA exams. Thinking about it now it will probably be a lot less stressful just letting them go in & get on with it!!!

    IDTA Exams

Thank-you everyone for all your advice! It's certainly very different & much stricter than UKA. We were allowed to work the music, keep the mirrors & even dance with the students if they were abit nervous! Thanks for the helpful advice & best wishes too! x

    IDTA Exams

I am a qualified dance teacher both Associate & Licentiate in ballet, tap, freestyle, hip hop & street, musical theatre etc. with UKA association. I decided to apply to become a member of the IDTA and have been accepted. I am a little concerned about the exam format & wondered if people could shine some light please?! Two things, first is it really true that teachers aren't allowed to work the music system during the exams? I am a complete control freak & hate the thought of having to trust a parent to do this job! Secondly, I'm confused about how many students you are allowed to enter. It says no two same grades can be entered in on the same session - I have 40 children all due to take primary grade in tap & ballet, so split into groups of 3's that's loads!! Am I to take it I have to organise loads of exam sessions?! Sorry for the rambling & if I am asking silly questions! Any advice or clarification from IDTA teachers would be great! Thanks so much!
