  1. Also bear in mind that the school AD chooses the casting for school performances and the company AD Selects for a spot in the company, so may have different tastes or opinions. Plus companies may choose a certain type of dancer to fit the company. There are many reasons not least the choice of the student as other people have said, who may prefer a definite place as an artist of another company where they may get more opportunities sooner at another company than royal. I think I recall Tamara Rojo saying after graduating she deliberately chose a spot in a smaller company first as she thought she was more likely to get a chance to dance soloist roles and get promotion sooner.
  2. Chaeyeon Kang has just completed second year at the school so won’t graduate till next year. We saw her dance at opera Holland Park and she definitely caught our eyes
  3. There are quite a few prix de Lausanne finalists competitors and prize winners currently at rbs upper school.
  4. If the dream is to dance in top professional ballet companies around the world then it has to be rbs. Look at their graduate destinations year on year. Academically the upper school students undertake a BA hons degree in classical ballet context and also do another study stream alongside which can be an a level or epq. It’s extremely competitive to get into with the international prize winners and top students from around the world as well as white lodge students taking most of the places. Good luck!
  5. No Samira Saidi has left now I believe. The school posted about it on their website last month I think
  6. Yep, my DD left vocational school and trained non vocationally at Masters of Ballet Academy for 18 months, she got multiple offers for top upper schools here and abroad and started her upper school training last month. DM me if you want more information.
  7. Massive Congratulations to those with yeses and waitlists, and please please please if your DC has got a no, this doesn't have to be the end of their dreams. DD didn't ever make WL finals. She got an MA place for y9 and trains with an excellent after school pre-professional school (not a full time vocational school). She is in y11 now and has got finals for RBS upper as well as other top schools in Europe. She has worked very hard, never taken anything for granted and never given up. A no for year 7 is most definitely not the end.
  8. I Believe the plan for international candidates who can’t attend is there will be a review of videos and then another selection and those selected will do a zoom audition after Easter - this is for upper school.
  9. Yes emails came out on monday for UK applicants and some international applicants have had their results also, as they have posted on this topic.
  10. Yes that is what our email said. Congrats to your dd too!
  11. Hi Vivian grace is that enbs or royal? enbs email says there is a zoom option but royal haven’t said that. The email just said live audition on 27 March and if you can’t attend they wouldn’t discount you. Is that what your email said?
  12. Does anyone know how many girls are normally at finals for RBS upper? I say normally as this year is obviously anything but normal ...
  13. Hi VivianGrace The email said first day was audition class and second was medical and physio. Not sure how long the results will take. They don't have boarding but I think a lot of students rent shared accommodation and I think the school help them co-ordinate this. I would email the school and ask for more info on this. RBS has boarding yes. You can find a list of destinations of graduates from ENBS on their website. Good luck with it all - particular if you are travelling from abroad for the audition at the moment, is that possible with all the travel restrictions currently in place? The email said if you couldn't attend in person due to travel restrictions they will provide a zoom audition I think.
  14. Yes email arrived yesterday afternoon from ENBS.
  15. Are you saying then most if not all who go onto upper school are students who joined later eg y10?
  16. Also I saw on their website a few weeks ago that enbs are not going to require an initial video this year to select for prelims.
  17. Enbs cancelled their non residential intensive on Friday
  18. I got a pair from dancia by post at end of March - the brighton shop I think
  19. As finals are cancelled this year instead there is a virtual scholarship round for those invited to finals. RBS are one of the partner schools listed on the scholarship form finalists have to fill out as part of the virtual scholarship process. They haven't attended YAGP finals for a few years but it appears that was changing this year, until CV-19 prevented the finals taking place in New York. Yes, it seems to be the case DD Driver.
  20. Definitely would recommend Princess Grace in Monaco also. DD spent two weeks boarding there this summer, exceptional training.
  21. SA results for London are out, yes for DD. Well done to all who have a yes for associates and those who got SWL. xx
