  1. Hello everyone! Spirit YPC is proud to be launching the 'Musical Theatre Associates Program', for exceptional talent aged 8-20. This program is ideal for performers with a packed dance training schedule, who may not have the time to add on quality singing and acting training on a weekly basis. The MT Associates training takes place on one Sunday per month, and is led by the best in the business and industry decision-makers, including: Alan Bradshaw: Resident Director of West End’s School of Rock and Children’s Dance Captain for West End’s Billy Elliot. Alexandra Sarmiento: Dance Captain of West End’s Hamilton. Associate choreographer of In the Heights and Legally Blonde. Mike Hilton: Resident Director of School of Rock UK Tour, Hairspray, High School Musical & Jersey Boys. And many more! The program has been designed to complement performer's currently weekly training. Our audition day consists of a 4-hour workshop, where performers will take classes with these industry leaders and walk away feeling inspired and motivated, whatever the outcome. Applicants do not need to excel in all three disciplines but strength in two, along with grit, determination and facility to work on the third, is a must! On this day you will not only be considered for the program, you will also get a taste of the full MT Associates experience. It is well worth attending for that alone! Our Audition Workshop days are taking place on 17th July or 20th November. Spaces are guaranteed to go so do not miss out! To learn more about the program and our incredible faculty visit: https://www.spirit-mt.co.uk/associates To book into the audition day visit: https://www.spirit-mt.co.uk/audition We'll also be hosting a Zoom QnA session on Tuesday 12th July at 7pm. 2. Calling DANCERS aged 15 - 21 for the workshop of a brand new musical this Summer (16th - 28th August) Spirit Young Performers Company will be casting just five exceptional dancers to be part of the Workshop Cast of a brand new musical. These dancers will spend 2 weeks of Summer working with a West End creative team, in a small cast of world-class young performers, for a live performance before industry pros. When/where does thew workshop take place? All rehearsals take place in London, UK. The cast will rehearse between Monday 16th August - Friday 27th August. Approximately 10am-5pm per day, though hours could occasionally vary depending on rehearsal requirements. The workshop performance will take place on Saturday 28th August. What should selected dancers expect from the experience... This is as close as you can get to the professional workshop experience. You will be part of the development of a brand new musical. You will spend two weeks working with a professional creative team. You'll be expected to be flexible and adaptable, as the songs will be developing and changing throughout the process. You'll get a first-hand view of how musicals are made, in their very first stages. There will be just 9 dancers in the production, responsible for bringing the big dance numbers to life for the very first time. At the end of the two weeks there will be a workshop performance, before an audience of industry professionals and producers. Dancers will also be able to invite friends/family to watch as well. This will be a presentation of new work, performed in a stripped-back theatre setting with live band. What does it cost? We're proud to be offering this opportunity for just £560. This covers two weeks of workshop with a professional creative team, plus the performance before industry pros. There are no hidden or additional costs. Scholarships are available to a limited number of perfomers from low income backgrounds. We can also accomodate instalment payment plans for any performer who needs this. Further information All further information about this project, and the internationally acclaimed Spirit Young Performers Company, can be found on our website here. About the auditions... The first round of auditions will be done via self-tape (deadline 30th June 2021). Submissions are now OPEN. The recalls will be held in London on Saturday 3rd July. I'm ready! How do I audition? Click to submit your self tape. On your tape please introduce yourself (name, age, a bit about you) and include a video of you dancing, either solo or where you can be clearly seen within a group, ideally in jazz or commercial style. We recommend using WeTransfer or YouTube to upload your video.
  3. The dance company is launching in September 2016; it is brand new so we do not have a track record of competitions yet. Until now we have just had the Performers Company, specialising predominantly in musical theatre. This company is immensely successful with many students being cast in the West End, as well as our performance troupes being chosen to perform on ITV, West End Live, Move It etc in the last year alone. So whilst the dance company is brand new, we are confident it will follow suit in becoming quickly successful. The dance company will work with a variety of choreographers throughout the year. You can read about Performers Company staff on our website. For an idea of standard, our latest musical theatre troupe's performance at West End Live is available to view online too here as well as many other performance videos on our official channel.
  4. From acclaimed performing arts school, Spirit Young Performers Company: We will be launching our dance company in September, aimed at exceptional young dancers aged 6-19. Auditions are running on Sunday 10th July, led by Richard Marcel (top UK choreographer of BBC's 'So You Think You Can Dance', 'Strictly Come Dancing', 'Sports Relief', 'Burn the Floor' and more). Selected dancers will receive: Weekday evening training from London's top dance instructors. The opportunity to compete within a highly selective team. The chance to perform at high-profile live events. Recently our Performers Company students have performed on prime-time ITV television, on the prestigious 'West End Live' stage, at the 02 Arena, 'Move It' Main Stage and more. The opportunity to be showcased on our YouTube channel, which attracts around 1.5 million viewers every month. A relationship with international dance brand, Capezio, who are supporting the launch and continuation of our dance company. Regular masterclasses from top instructors, dancers and choreographers internationally. Training in ballet, contemporary, jazz, tumbling, conditioning, leaps & turns, with optional commercial and tap. For more information please visit our website.
  5. Dear parents/guardians of young dancers, It may be of interest that - from October 2014 - Spirit Young Performers Company will be launching an Elite Dance Troupe. These dancers will train and rehearse with us every Sunday in Central London from 4pm - 6pm, working on jazz, contemporary, lyrical and modern routines. Performances will be professionally filmed every term and released to thousands of viewers and subscribers on our online channel. We are also lined up to perform at competitions and prestigious live events.
