  1. Make-up and cleansers/removers Make-up brushes My dd always asks for leotards & tights
  2. We thoroughly enjoyed the performance of Pinocchio on Saturday Evening at the The Atkinson theatre in Southport. It was such a fun ballet and although a couple of the younger cast members looked a little stiff to start, they seemed to relax into the performance and enjoy themselves. I particularly liked the Fox and the Ringmaster. It was however a woefully small audience, I hope that they are more supported on the rest of the tour. It is such a fun ballet to see. Recommended!
  3. Definitely agree with That's Entertainment in Liverpool. the best fittings my dd has had she's 18 now and been en Pointe 6 years.
  4. I bought my dd a slow cooker for this year so that she has a hot meal plus meals prepared for the fridge/freezer. She is in Scotland where it is dark, wet and windy!!
  5. Sad news. Condolences to his family and friends. RIP
  6. Hi I´ve just found another one in Liverpool city centre on a Monday evening at: rarestudioliverpool.co.uk Their open classes are found on the timetable page at the bottom.
  7. Thank you I will tell my dd to check them out.
  8. Hi does anyone know of any open ballet classes in Liverpool for my dd who is home for the summer from vocational school. Thanks
  9. And foot stretchers that look like some kind of medieval torture implement!
  10. I thought that I hadn´t imagined afternoons on BBC2 when they showed ballet and opera!
  11. Loved the show too at the Brindley. I would highly recommend it if it's coming to a theatre near you. The small children sat behind us were obviously mesmerized as well, not a sound from them throughout the whole performance.
  12. We're really looking forward to tonights performance, as we loved their performance of Swan Lake. Can anyone tell me the running time as we are reliant on public transport back to Liverpool? Thank you
  13. Some Nutcracker ballet ones today in W H Smiths, they were lovely.
  14. We did ours in front of disposable white paper tablecloths clear taped to the wall and floor. Cheap and effective
  15. Have you looked into schools in Germany? I don't think that you have to speak German as it´s offered as a subject, there is academics and boarding? Look at the Hamburg ballet school website in English.
  16. For those of you like me are fairly new to the vocational schools and have a book list, I recently bought 2nd hand books fairly cheap from: elizadawsondancebooks.co.uk I have no connection with this business, just thought it was a useful piece of information to pass on.
  17. If you´re in London there is this one too, http://www.invitationtodance.org.uk/
  18. What a feeling - Irene Cara (Flashdance) Twist and shout - The Beatles Fame - Irene Cara
  19. We stayed at the Five Bells in Aston Clinton just up the road from Tring. A beautiful old coaching inn with a nice restaurant and family rooms, reasonable rates and breakfast included.
  20. I am not a dancer but for me to watch my daughter perform in any of the Tchaikovsky ballets (especially the Rose adagio) would be my perfect heaven!.
  21. The Asda card sounds like a good idea, I wonder if Tescos do something similar? I think Tescos is the only option where my dd will be.
  22. I will probably be sending tights for my DD given the way that she goes through them with me washing them!. As for cheap fun things to do, I am completely out of touch with what 16/18 year olds like in the UK. My DD will be on a very tight budget too, so will have to learn to like vegetables!
  23. Another one, but in the south again that may suit is the dancers course by the ballet boyz.
