My daughter is struggling to find a new dance school, she is currently at advanced 2 level and wanting to prepare for the exam. Does anyone know of any good schools in north east, Newcastle - Durham sort of area. She would like to find a school with the opportunity to also take other classes such as contemporary or jazz. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Hi pastel, been following your storey too. Nerve racking for us I'm sure even more so for you having to travel so far, a huge adventure. Maybe our daughters will get to know each other in september if things work out. Good luck x

Hi everyone, and jazzpaws, on reserve too, will have maximum to pay on dada, worried as dd favourite place. We will definitely be looking at staying with host family as boarding would be impossible for us financially, although i have never entered competitions and lottery until now and thats all i seem to be doing in my spare time. X

Ill be an alcoholic by the end and wont even be able to work to pay for any of it, gosh!! Does anyone else feel like that!!

Yes its all very costly and to be honest a big struggle. My dd is on reserve for dada but even if she gets it its going to be very hard. We will have to pay the maximum due to family income not much below the 70 k, with accomodation on top im really worried. I only wish I'd been more aware 5 years ago and prepared for the whole process. Dancing does not earn big bucks but to get there costs.

Hi dance 2013, my dd is also on reserve for place on tring dance course. I'm also wondering if anyone has heard yet of places being offered to the on reserve list? Waiting is awful, such a long process. Not sure when they started offering to reserves last year but know there were 10 taken from the reserve list.

Postman just been. No letters today !

Hi friends. Did they definitely inform by email last year? I really hope it is soon either way. I have popped home from wotk for lunch today just in case postman had brought the letter, i dont want my dd coming in from school to the letter, if its bad news i want to be here to comfort her and if its good news i want to share her joy. She is not expecting to get it, she said that everyone was so good. Good luck to your dd jazzpaws, you said your daughter is really tall, was she wearing a dark green leotard?

Hi Jazzpaws. My dd was there too. She enjoyed audition, didnt have call back, she feels she danced eell but said everyone was really excellent and has no idea which way its going to go. She has only auditioned for 3 schools, on reserve for Tring and no Elmhurst so Central was super important to her. I'm worried if i should have let her audition for more but even the 3 have been very stressful. Good luck to your dd with Central and BTuk.
