  1. LinMm you need to download the 4od app onto your iPad then you can watch the performance.
  2. Dd also has the Kelly Holmes one from Tesco . The wobble board was recommended by the phsyio when she sprained her ankle. She has also been using it for recent knee sprain.
  3. Yes that helps, only now I am concerned as DD is 16.
  4. Is this something you are born with or can it develop?. Dd has been having treatment for a knee sprain, today she has seen a different physio that her CAT use. He has said she has slightly torn her hamstring which is causing the knee pain. He said that DDs hyper extended legs have not helped it to heal. He was shocked when DD told him she has never been told before that she has hyper extended legs hence the question.
  5. Bloch TMT shoes do have a left and right there is a label inside.
  6. We have a friend who trained at LSC on the classical course starting at 16 she graduated at 19 but did I not get her first classical job until the aged of 21. So no further ahead than had she gone a 18.
  7. I just wanted to say that at 11 DD was not down in her splits but by 14 she was able to all splits. She worked hard in class but not so much at home. Anjuli_ Bai is right it takes time but he will get there.
  8. Thanks S & P and Klaris. Dd had some massage and ultrasound yesterday and is feeling much better today, trouble is she itching to get back to dance and is trying to talk me into letting her go. Have told her she will have to wait until after her second treatment on Monday and see how it is then.
  9. Thanks everyone. Have managed to get an appointment with a local physio on Thursday for some treatment. Fingers crossed for some improvement.
  10. DD home from school she has a medial ligament sprain ,so no dancing for a least two weeks . She is already fed up and to top it off she has Central audition in three weeks!
  11. Dd wears the stirrup tights with pointe shoes and as far as I can tell the only difference is that the body wrappers ones are sewn so there is a hole for the big toe. Dd chose the stirrup tights because she always ended with holes around her big toes and they irritated her. I have also cut holes in tights and they have never run, I had been given a load of new tights but DD preferred convertibles so I cut holes in the feet and they were fine.
  12. Dancing in the street do jazz pants in short, regular and long. Dd is 5ft and the short length was perfect for her.
  13. I think Matthew Bourne's Sleeping Beauty was filmed in Bristol. Dd and I watched on I-player and we enjoyed it almost as much as the first time we saw it at Plymouth. I am not an expert on cheography etc but this is one of my favourites and dd and I would defiantly go and see it again.
  14. The Twickenham travelodge is within walking distance, took us about 25 mins to walk. The hotel was ok one of the ones that has been done up and right next to the train station. It was a little noisy for us but we are used to no noise at all during the night where we live so might not bother others.
  15. Dd I and I off to catch the train in to London. Dd super excited for the events today - company class and Rooster workshop.
  16. Dd and I have to wait till next year to see this , have only seen it on tv so far. DD very excited and can't wait especially as a couple of years ago Adam Cooper was the teacher and judge in the one and only festival she has taken part in. He taught some of the choreography from swan lake and he gave DD a commendation and shook her hand for the way she performed the piece, something that she will remember for ever.
  17. Dd is doing this treatment at the moment recommended by a physio as she was having pain in her calf. The physio told her to put her legs in the ice water first and then 'leg drain'. It seems to be working well for her.
  18. Link - dd and myself have also been lucky in getting the rehearsal and q&a for the 7th and dd doing the rooster workshop too. Looking forward to it.

Thanks Pups_mum that's good to know. DD not decided if she should go ahead with it yet, as she is still a little worried about taking on to much. I have e-mailed the teacher with her concerns. Will let you know what she decides and how she gets on if she goes ahead.

My DD has the opportunity to start an ISTD DDI course in Modern. She will be doing a full time training course with her CAT from September this will give her a BTEC level 3 diploma. The DDI fits perfectly in the free periods in her timetable. I know there is a lot of worked involved in the DDI but I am wondering if the two together would be too much? Also can a16/17 year old really understand all the complexities of teaching?
  21. Millie3 - dd has been practicing her cooking this week too , as she will also have to cook for herself. Homemade pizza and garlic bread today, pretty yummy.
  22. For those that have the Capezio trolley bag, do you find it stable when full and pulling it on the wheels? We have had wheeled bags before that flip over at every little bump. Thinking it may be a good choice for DD.
  23. Hi all just a quick update as i thought this scheme my be usful to others in similar situations to us.DDs application has been passed by the Education authority, I sent information on the CAT scheme and the course she is applying for and it was approved very quickly. Now the application will be sent of to the learner support service to approve, the problem with this part is that normally you have to send a tenancy agreement with the application. This I have not done as without the support of the scheme we would not be able to afford the cost of the accomadation bit of a catch 22 there , but I am not about to give up yet.
  24. Thanks for the support. The scheme appers to be run be the goverment i have to fill in a form and hand it back to the cousre organisers who then contact local LEA. If all is well the form then gets sent of to the learner support service who arrange payment. This CAT scheme only offer a-levels alongside the BTEC. The coursework is the same that would be done at any college but the big difference would be the level of dance as the CAT course is only open to those already on the CAT scheme and also the CAT place great importance on ballet. DD will have a ballet class everyday compared to the college course we looked at which occasionally has a ballet class. Taximum- what is USP Is this the course code? on the paperwork we have it says about checking course codes with a website that I can't access. I am waiting for a call from the LEA, I hope by talking to the person responsible that I may be able to point out the differences before they get the paperwork. Have also made anouther appointment with local mp who happens to be David Laws he is the person who first told us about the scheme when we were looking into anouther school for DD, he did seem like he genuinely wanted to help. Fingers crossed.x
