  1. Did has got some from Matalan they look similar to the tesco ones, can't help with the size though.
  2. Companies house website allows you to look up a business and see if has been dissolved.
  3. I second what Janet has said there are many dancers in contemporary companies who have trained at ballet schools, so it is not impossible for her to get into a contemporary company. Have a look at the background of dancers in companies that she is interested in or likes the style off that might help get a picture of what sort of training the company like.
  4. Travelodge are ok with 16 year olds staying on their own. My DD has stayed in a couple of them.
  5. My DD did this for three years would recommend. Great teaching very supportive, lots of opportunities to work with guest teachers and plenty of performance opportunities. DD is at vocational school now, they have great success in students getting into good schools. Please feel free to message me if I can help any more.
  6. DD met Matthew earlier this year along with other students from her school and he told them he was working on the red shoes.
  7. Dd had a policy with Axapp when she started school at 17 it was about £160 for the year.
  8. My DD has used the NHS dance clinic before and what your doctor has told you is wrong. That said it did take a bit of persuading for DD's doctor to refer her, I think maybe because he did not know about the clinic. If you go on the nidams website there is a number to call if you have trouble with the referral. I can wholeheartedly recommend these dance clinics the doctors did a fantastic job in looking after DD and she saw a doctor a physio and podiatrist all in the same appointment.
  9. Spanner- yes she has her own cupboard and shelf in the fridge and the freezer .
  10. Dd uses the Mysupermarket app to plan her shopping, she does not stick to it rigidly but also looks for bargins. Dd eats lots of pasta and rice, she uses passata instead of pasta sauce and she freezes leftovers in individual portions. Tinned soup and frozen veg are good buys to. She buys large tubs of togurt instead of individual pots. She always has reduced bread and rolls in her freezer. Scrambled eggs on toast is her favourite breakfast at the moment, with salad and homemade smoothies for lunch. She does not eat a lot of meat that probably helps keep the cost down. She is lucky in location as she has three large supermarkets nearby and a great fruit and veg shop on th high street.
  11. I give my dd £25 and she usually has money left, she has become a bit of a bargin hunter and I often get excited texts when she has picked a bargin. Others at her school spend much more on food but also waste a lot of food which annoys dd no end.
  12. Thanks baby steps, but the easter school is being held at the David Lloyd gym in Long Ashton. Looks like the best option is the Long Ashton park and ride, but it does not run on Sunday's. Google did not give the right location for the gym and Parson street train station it tells me is 40 mins walk and it looks like for some of the way there may be no footpath.
  13. Hopefully someone can help answer my question. Dd is interested in doing the easter school but will have to travel by herself. Google tells me the venue is within walking distance from Parson street train station is this correct? Is there a better way of getting there from Temple meads train station? Thanks
  14. Yes that's the correct website for Dancewell.
  15. Dancewell in Bristol stock them, DD wears them too. Quick postage too I ordered DD some on Wednesday and she got them Thursday.
  16. Hi thanks for thinking of DD. She is back dancing with very little pain, she had some bruising to the bone. She is also having an mri tomorrow to look at the cartilage damage, the staff at the Bath NHS dance clinic are fantastic and I highly recommend them they were fantastic with DD.

    Move It 2015

I will be there on the Friday to, our DDs are at the same school.. I have never been on Friday before but Satudays and Sunday's are really busy. Everyone is right wear comfy shoes you will be on your feet a lot. And As 2 dancersmum said take food and drink as it is very expensive, although there is a small Tesco about 5 mins walk away .
  18. The appointment is through for the 21st of January! Does anybody have any experience of the Jerwood centre in Birmingham, wondering if we can afford some private treatment while waiting.
  19. Thanks 2dancersmum and slick I will pass on the hugs to DD, hope your DDs are well. The doctor reluctantly made the referral, so now to just wait for the appointment.
  20. A week and a half ago Dd sprained her ankle, she was sent for an X-ray which showed damaged cartilage. The gp said he was urgently referring her to an orthopaedic doctor and not to do anything until then. She did not ask any questions I think she was in shock. The appointment has come through for mid December, as you can imagine she is missing dance terribly. She has looked it up on the net and it does not sound good, she is scared she won't be able to dance again. Dd is going back to the gp tomorrow to ask to be referred to the dance clinic at Bath hospital as I feel this would be the best place for treatment. Has anybody had any experience with this?
  21. I think what 2dancersmum said might be right. I have recently started studying for a degree and when appling for finance was told that you generally qualify for finance if you have not already got a higher education qualification, even if It was self funded. There are exceptions for what you are studing such as doctor or teacher.
  22. Sky dancer I' m so sorry, I hope what you have is enough for GBR. I am shocked that you have been mocked like this I don't know what to say. I hope you are able to sort something out and that you are able to continue with you dream of going to Laban.x
