    Just wanted to share there has been some movement on the tring mds list and my dd has now been offered a place, all in shock!

    I believe they are being sent second class so the lady told me we should have them thursday. I was really hoping today!

    Ha, tring was a4 and thick so a definite give away but for elmhurst finals I seem to remember it was small and thin with not much in! So haven't a clue what the successful ones will be like! Not long to wait!!!

    So are you saying you think they have informed the directors already? If that's the case in my opinion it devalues the visitor day and assessment day they have coming up? To me it would make sense to have the assessments before places are given out.

    Elmhurst had auditions yesterday and today so my guess is they either decided on Wednesday or it will monday when decisions are made!

    I think it probably a reasonable amount bearing in mind the main assessments take place at the end of year 9 so unfortunately any children assessed out would be at this time. Must be very difficult for them indeed.

    I'm guessing the low number of girls perhaps reflects the limited places if any at all available?

    Perhaps 10 going for year 9 as I believe one girl joined the wrong group.

    My dd had a lovely day at elmhurst too and would love more than anything to get a golden ticket to go there. She said everyone in her group was really fabulous. She gave it her best shot but is not too hopeful especially for a place higher up in the school, I won't go into reasons why, but is adamant she will go through it all again next year! I'm not sure my nerves can take it. It's an amazing achievement for all our children to make these finals and I keep reminding her how incredibly well she has done this year. The best of luck to everyone, we will be doing some serious finger crossing! X

    We were told elmhurst would shut for the holidays on Thursday so some time around then . Hope it went well for everyone! Good luck!

    Massive congratulations principito, feeling nervous for tues myself. my dd wants it so much, I just fear a place for the year she's going for is so difficult and unlikely. Good luck everyone!

    Surely anyone not accepting their MDS for lower school will go to those on the reserve list that had been ranked, otherwise it's pretty unfair since the funding was supposed to be for the 60 children there that were considered classically talented?

    Amos, that's wonderful news, so pleased for her! Bet you can't wait to tell her. Fingers crossed for Elmhurst for us!
