All letters received by our lot finally, an unusual year where everyone is smiling, hope everyone else gets their letters today and don't have to wait until Monday X.

I remember they arrived on a Saturday a few years back but I think they were quicker the last few years...

Glad to hear it went well, our dancers seemed to feel it went ok and that they managed to do their best, now for the wait...

Sorry I think having re read my post I sound a little flippant, what I was really trying to explain is that as long as their is no questionable teaching on show at an exam session the RAD are not concerned with percentages of Exams or Presentation. Like Dr Dance I have heard of teachers being questioned about their teaching and even some required to attend additional courses in order to be allowed to remain RAD teachers. Tx.

It's also worth remembering that all Examination/Presentation syllabus used by teachers are products which those teachers choose to buy and then choose to pay to have examined/presented, I think the RAD think far more of selling their products than they do worry about how they are being used or anything of Schools who use more of one type of product than another. It should be remembered that teachers don't work for the RAD, we may hold RAD qualifications but we are also consumers of the RAD products and it is at our discretion how we use them. That said a quick visit to the RAD website should explain all the differences to any pupil or parent who is perhaps being misled. I am also reminded of another school who used presentations rather than examinations, here it was a matter of cost, of not only the exam but also extra coaching classes in term before the exam, the majority of parents were unable to commit to the cost of all the coaching classes but children were allowed to sit the presentation with only one extra class giving recreational children a much cheaper route to continue through the syllabus. Every school is different. Tx.

Hi W445403, The Kenn Burke and Friends Summer School in Glasgow held at The Dance School of Scotland at Knightswood, is really good value, excellent faculty and tuition with dancers kept busy 9.30 - 4.30 everyday. Classes in ballet, repertoire, pointework, classical greek, mime, dance history, Jazz and singing. This years dates are 9th - 13th July Senior School is 2 groups intermediate foundation & intermediates and advanced foundation and above £160.00 tuition 5 days dancing 21/2 hours every day with Mr Burke and if you need accommodation £100.00 for four nights with a host dancing family, although I believe some of the farther traveled kids paid a little more to the host families to arrive on the Sunday evening. Junior School is two or three groups grade 1 - grade 5 standard £130.00 10.15am - 4.15pm. I have the contact No. for the people who do the admin here and could send it to anyone interested. T.

Have Dancers heading all over, but this year all ballet focused courses, Northern Ballet, ENB, RBS, YBSS, Ballet West, RCS, Scottish Ballet, and Kenn Burke and Friends.

Hi Ballettaxi, The only other Scottish Summer School I know about is Kenn Burke and Friends running at The Dance School of Scotland it's the 9th - 13th of July and priced at £160 for five days really excellent value for money, a lot of dancing and very little down time, I have a phone number some where and will have a look for it if you are interested... Hi Balletshoes, No Juniors, we will again have seniors but from a teachers point of view their is rarely unadulterated happiness along with audition results! I have a few more happy than unhappy but as someone far brighter than I once said "you are only as happy as your unhappiest child" so its been a fairly subdued week here. Ballettaxi hope your little one is on the mend and has lots of dance to look forward to over the summer I keep reminding my lot Summer School is just around the corner with a whole new set of challenges for them. Hi Jellybeans, Over splits, not the back bend in the picture while I have seen some amazing back bends in ballet classes, I think this particular stretch is still in the domain of Rhythmic and artistic gymnasts. T.
