  1. Hi, I'm wondering the same thing. I've had an email saying they've recieved the application and would be in touch soon with audition details (that was last week) but nothing else so far. I thought the auditions were supposed to be either 2nd or 4th March! If I haven't heard anything by Monday I'll ask when dd goes for her class (she goes to the open lessons there). Hopefully we'll hear something soon
  2. Hi, I was looking on the Tring website yesterday and they have an easter course from age 8 upwards (age 9 for boarding) and from grade 1 ballet. They've also put dates up for a summer school, no information yet but I would assume it would be similar to the easter course.
  3. Hi, from what I know the mid associates are for ages 12 - 14 and are held on a saturday morning. The cat programme is for ages 10 - 16 and I think the classes for that depend on what the individual student needs, but is several times a week. There's quite a lot of info on the Northern ballet website. The closing date for audition applications is Feb 20th, with the auditions themselves being the beginning of March. Hope this helps
  4. Think so, she told the children just before Xmas and tonight my dd came home and said that Jane would be having the baby about the time of the show, so I'm assuming she's due in about June!
  5. Dd's teacher is Jane at the moment, but she's expecting a baby in about June, I'm not sure who'll be teaching then. Dd has really enjoyed the open classes and has learnt a lot from them in a short space of time, I'm thinking of taking my youngest dd, but probably not until September.
  6. Hi, Glad your dd enjoyed the day, we didn't make it as neither dd or I were very well. Do you know who the teacher was, I'm wondering if she's the same one that takes my dd's ballet class?
  7. It's the one in Leeds. My dd (9) has been going to the open classes since November and as Glowlight says the style is very different from RAD. She really enjoys them, also the facilities and the fact they have a pianist for every lesson. DD is going to audition for junior associates but I think reguardless of whether she gets a place or not, she will probably keep going to the open classes as she has learnt a lot from them.
  8. Hi, from what I know, Northern ballet school (which is completely seperate from Northern ballet theatre) is in Manchester. I don't know much about the school except it's where my dd's ballet teacher trained. NBT is based in Leeds (use to be Manchester, I think) and now has it's own academy, which runs open classes, also has it's own associate scheme and a profesional training program. They also hold summer schools, for which I think are just for students in vocational training (I might be wrong). I think David Nixon is the artistic director of the company and the academy.
  9. Thank you Frangapani and eloise_please. We might go to the open day on 29th Jan, but she's just started going to their open classes so is familiar with the building (Her dad takes her and is hopeless at asking any questions about associates etc!) although I'm sure she'd enjoy the open day and it would be helpful for me. I'm taking her to the Leeds RBS be a JA for the day in Feb as she would like to audition for them again.
  10. My nearly 10 year old DD would like to audition for Northern ballet JAs. She auditioned for Royal ballet JAs last year and got a short waiting list place but sadly nothing came up. Just wondering if the audition process for Northern is similar. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
