    Hi Everyone, my daughter is on the reserve list for Dada for Laine for Diploma and just wondered if anyone on here knew of anyone not taking a Laine dada in favour of going to another school. She was devastated when we found out yesterday and I just wanted to see if it was realistic that she still stood a chance? Thanks in advance

    i know of a girl who has been offered a year 10 place and a girl offered a year 9 place and i think a boy has been offered a year 8 place all from Elmhurst all spotted at ss

    Hi spacy, yes they try to audition in groups by age. I cant remember for sure but i think you only tour the school at final audition ( i am sure someone will correct me if i am wrong) it was 12 months since dd auditioned! Not sure about auditioning if no places available. Good luck

    Fantastic well done to those with yes's we were in the same position last year but dd is loving it ar elmhurst so it is definitley worth all the effort! Good luck for finals and commiserations to those with no's

    There does seem some pressure to get pointe shoes fitted by the approved shop at elmhurst

    I agree anjuli it seems ridiculous! Freed and bloch do not suit everyones feet. The fitting by dancing boutique at elmhurst was speaking to others not a very good experience and did not take very long! Especially for a first pointe shoe several different makes and several different styles of each make should be tried to decide which shoes suit each girls feet best! Dd pointe shoe fitting at local dance shop took easily an hour and she tried on at least 30 different shoes before choosing with the help of lisa the fitter her Grishko pro that she absolutely loves

    My dd was at finals for year 7 last year and there were approx 50 recalled and 13 girls and 8 boys are in year 7 this year but i know of 2 or 3 that havent got mds

    Hi tmt my dd said the modern/jazz class was quite basic learning steps and combinations and then putting them together at the end and dancing together in small groups

    We were allowed to look round bedrooms at Elmhurst at final auditions. And very nice they are too!

    I spoke to Elmhurst and they wouldn't let us look round prior to audition

    Hi sorry i didnt mean she had to play the piano! Lol she took it so someone from the school could accompany her. my daughter doesn't sing but was still offered an mds so cant make much difference! Tell your Dd to Go for it!

    When my daughter was in the rb assOciate programme we got all her shoes from charades dancewear wolverhampton 01902 621122 very helpful and stock freed, capezio block katz roch valley shoes and a wide variety if tights if mention this forum they will also give you a 10% discount!
