  1. I completely agree with angela - my dd is in her first year as an Elmhurst Associate and she has already made some lovely friends, has a teacher she loves and really looks forward to going every week. From what I can remember the audition takes the form of a class and I can remeber that they were put in pairs at some point - I think the main thing is to enjoy it. Good luck to everyone x
  2. Firstly, congratulations for your Dd on being offered her place - I agree with many of the comments already made, not knowing your other comittments its hard to make a judgement and I agree its so easy to get swept along without thinking of all the consequences on other family members (I have 3 children and Dd is the middle one) - we travel an hour and half (one way) to our Dds associate class and our youngest (who also dances but not as much) has to come with me - its not just the journey but the waiting - which can be pretty boring! We are doing EYB from next week and again - more weekends of travelling and hanging around! In saying that I dont regret doing any of it - Dd is loving her associate classes and has already made new friends and she is lucky to have such supportive siblings. I think maybe good planning will help - doing homework etc on the train - whatever decision you make it will be the right one for you and your Dd. Good luck! x
  3. Hi dancing10 Dd is going to casting for Giselle next Fri (Torquay) - she is very excited and desperate to know what she will be! x
  4. I have to agree with primrose about people giving more rounded opinions - I have been reading this forum for over a year and it has been extremely interesting and informative - I know so very little about this world that my dd is so in love with and I for one, am on a very steep learning curve!
  5. Bluebell, my daughter does exactly what you have said - she doubles up in her ballet, tap and modern classes and also attends an associate class at the weekends. She has friends that have sucessfully auditioned for vocational schools but it is not something she wants to do yet ( she is still only 10) - and at the moment we find this is the best way forward for all of us.
