  1. Well I’m 5ft 8ins so Cesar must be at least 5ft 9ins!!
  2. @lady emily Hoorah!! Success!! An opportunity to thank you once again for the video just loved Muntagirov picking Alex up like that…I’m sure that would have set me off if had been there 😥
  3. Just watched the video @lady Emily that was very heart warming ❤️ incidentally who is the dancer in the red skirt standing near Lesley Collier? I thought it might be Akane but too tall for her? Also Alex surely has to be the GOAT for partnering!
  4. Thanks Roberta! Lovely! A reminder too for the first role saw Francesca in and loved her ever since. They look so good together and my Nutcracker fix for this year 🙏 X
  5. Thanks to all who have posted here to get a flavour of the occasion. Looks like he had a lovely send off to finish his career at RB. Looks like we all have at least one forever memorable performance and for me it was his Giselle with Hayward. He will definitely be missed 😥
  6. Great photos RobS! Looks like a lovely send off.
  7. I would have said between 5ft 9in and 10ins about an inch or so taller than myself! I suppose Cesar could have been part joking in the interview …he’s gone from being smaller than average height to an acceptable average height for males …like 5ft 11 ins lol.
  8. Yes it’s usually the Practice you are actually registered with that they might be interested in rather than an individual Doctor. These days making “routine” appointments is usually okay though you can wait longer than two weeks to see a particular doctor but when you really need to see a doctor because you are actually ill appointments are non existing!!
  9. Sorry can’t be there now as would have snapped up your Balcony seat!! It’s gone by the way!
  10. Ha ha PeterS had me foxed there for a bit was just trying to work out how you could be in two places at once but see your NYCB visit was a matinee!
  11. If schools are giving out these long medical forms they need to be more mindful of just how difficult it is to get an appointment with a doctor in under two weeks these days and give them out in plenty of time for them to be completed etc. Even when you are ancient and in possible danger of developing pneumonia it’s difficult getting even an emergency appointment these days. I was told on a wet and windy day recently to go 5 miles into town to a walk in centre if wanted an urgent doctors consultation even though live just half a mile from GP 😳 I didn’t of course. I don’t know whether such walk in centres would work for these forms in an emergency as they might want the Family’s GP to at least sign it….though would have thought the nurse could actually do it.
  12. Thankyou Ballet Dreams and Jewel I think I’ve finally got my head around this!! None of the whole audition process seems wonderfully transparent to be honest. Anyway best of luck to all those hoping for an MDS hope it’s your lucky year.
  13. Sorry to keep harping on about this just trying to understand the procedures properly …but..if somebody was awarded an MDS and they didn’t need it at all ( I know this would be rare) would that unused MDS be then awarded to another student?
  14. I’d love to see more of Cesar partnered with Francesca Hayward they were terrific together in R&J. And very good together in Rhapsody too.
  15. Perhaps go armed with one of those cushions ( or your own!) Swanprincess just in case you get somebody tall in front of you.
  16. I think R&J is a great ballet to introduce to that 10-18 age group who are not in any way involved with Dance otherwise but if part of a family where there are keen ballet goers. Don’t think there will be too many moans if taken to see that!!
  17. I’ve booked to see them at Holland Park (booking opened on March 6th too) on June 29th. Hope I can catch them at Linbury too under Next Generation programme when public booking opens as main stage Show is nearly always sold out ….though have been lucky with last minute returns in last few years! Also glad to see ENBS is part of Next Generation this year.
  18. There was an article about him a couple of years ago maybe when trying to raise money for Vaganova training so am aware who he is. However I’ve only seen clips of him mainly from Corsaire and Flames of Paris which emphasise his jumping skills which many young male dancers have these days. In the Vaganova class excerpts it’s only his jumping shown again. I would like to have seen him in class with the other boys with him to get more of a picture of his overall ability as a professional dancer.
  19. Thanks for revue Sim!!!! 🙂 Yes I would expect that bit of subdued ness from Cesar on his initial return….. I caught that last time but then when I saw him down the line he was a different dancer! In this case don’t mention the second performance of SL as most of us won’t be able to see it ….this was the performance (on 21st March) that I would have chosen to go to if it had been possible 😬 It’s great to see we obviously have a new Von Rothbart star!!! Hope I get to see both Gary and Lukas in Swan Lakes am going to.
  20. Well it does look like quite a few regular Forum writers were up at the Wells yesterday for NYCB first night. But just hope somebody saw this. Lovely pics as always RobS …at least some record it actually happened lol!
  21. Very disappointed to see nothing at all still about last nights performance with Magri and Corrales. Now I know Nunez and Muntagirov can be in a league of their own sometimes but was it that uninspiring last night 🫣🤔 Or was everybody at the Wells?
  22. But what would be the point of offering MDS funding to somebody who doesn’t need it? I know this won’t be in the majority of cases but if awards are given out before parental income is known it just seems a bit strange to me. Also if the registration fee for a place has been paid but then the student cannot accept the place ( for lack of funding) is this reimbursed?
  23. Yes if you can do both I would suggest the ENB as a starter and he might identify with the younger dancers more. However if you can only do one trip right now then a good seat at ROH ( as you are suggesting) would be fine.
  24. I’d love to see Hayward and Bracewell!!
