  1. Hi my dd is going away to school in sept a,she is 11 and would love Facebook . I have an account to keep in touch with my brother who resides in the states as its cheaper to message me directly from there. I have just set up an account for my oldest daughter who is 13 as it seems all her friends have an account., but I don't like Facebook and think its dreadful how some people live out there every moment detailing it on their accounts. I'm undecided as to what to do about dd ,as she has some really good friends and it would be a quick way for them to keep in touch. If in the event we do set it up I like the idea of having her passwords so we can edit the account from home.i suppose it's also a good way of getting an insight into her world while she is away and feeling part of her day ( if she has time to put something on and if we don't hear from her that day ) hmmmm still thinking ........ X
  2. Hi just a question. My dd is starting vocational school in sept.i haven't as yet booked any summer schools for her as I thought as it was her last long summer before starting school it would be nice to have her at home before she goes away. There is a couple of summer events she can do nearer home like a drama course with her siblings and possibly a contemporary course. I know she will miss ballet terribly over the summer and I am now wondering if I should have booked a course- I know I have probably left this too late. Are there any courses still available and / or are there any courses near to the north east of England ( always having to travel it would be nice if something was nearer home) . Any info appreciated ????????
  3. Hi yes just got the letter. That's a shame that they won't do exams,I wasn't aware of that. The start of term is coming ever nearer, my dd is really looking forward to getting started .induction day was great for everyone getting to meet one another x

  13. Ah thank you for your replies, since we have started the whole auditioning process, we have looked at various threads on this site and have found them really helpful. My dd is re ally excited to have got a place and Im really proud of her ( but will really miss her),but I know she will be fine .I was really impressed with the pastoral care at the school and that in itself has put a lot of concerns to bed. I suppose we are just looking for some general tips ,before we start at the school, I am a complete novice to all of this (apart from constantly driving around the country taking my dd to classes and finding out which coffee shops stay open past 5.30pm!) , my dd really just wants to be in touch with other children at the school as she is soooo looking forward to getting started (don't know how we are going to get her through last term at current school as she would go now if she had the chance). x hiya , that was my mums comments above .I am really excited about going to the hammonds in September. I don't know how many girls are starting in yr 7 and would really like to know as I would really like to talk to them . I am also really nervous as well as I would be leaving all of my friends at my current school.I would really like it if I could talk to some of the girls who are going to be living with me and see how they feel. Anyway I will keep posting until September. see ya, luv pointeshoes xxxx :P
