To all the parents who are wondering about whether their child should audition because they are not ready to leave home .......My daughter wasn't ready to go away to Vocational School at year 7 so she carried on with her training and then succeeded in getting in MA'S and a full time place at Elmhurst in year 8. My advice would be to just to go with the flow - Your kids will tell you if the time is right and auditions don't harm anyone - very good experience for the real world!

Hi Everyone, I can confirm that my DD was accepted at Elmhurst for a year 8 place commencing in September! We will be attending the Induction day tomorrow but I was wondering if there is anybody who has second hand uniform to sell??

We haven't heard anything either! Guess it will be Monday or Tuesday!

We were told that we should have heard by the beginning of next week!

My DD auditioned for year 8 entry today. She said she had thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Hi Tracey47, DD is in the same section!!! Our tickets are with the Dance Teacher so don't know what her number is? I am watching but not sure if this will put her off!! Not sure what to expect really!!

My DD is competing on Sunday. She is really looking forward to it!

My DD attended the PVP for three years and has just completed 12 months of the RAD associates there. I definitely feel that Elmhurst has brought her on and my DD absolutely loves the lessons.

Hi Lemongirl, If your DD is doing a Tap Dance at the Festival then would recommend " Resin". This can be bought from your Local dance shops. Generally, I think the Adjudicator's tend to appreciate that the stage can be slippery at different venue's and will take this into account when marking. Good Luck for the Festival! x

Do you have to wait for a place to come up for your dd school year for mids? IE Is there more chance for a year 7 place coming free? We are on SWL for Birmingham Mids.

Does anyone know how many are likely to be on the SWL and what her chances of getting a place will be? Is the SWL split into year groups? Ie DD is hoping for a year 8 place so would a yr 8 have to decline a mid place? or is the list purely based on how you were ranked on your audition?
