  1. Yes, Sergei Filin was there on the night of the Spartacus translation.
  2. Some more news about Tsiskaridze's return by Ismene Brown : http://www.ismeneb.com/Blog/Entries/2013/9/27_Urin_ordered_to_give_Tsiskaridze_a_Bolshoi_farewell.html
  3. Here you can see Sergei walking independently on the streets of Aachen , talking to journalist, who has brought to him a suitcase for his trip back to Russia. Sergei says he is going to come back to Moscow approximately on the 14th of September, his eyes are getting better, but they hardly will ever be as good as they were. One eye still can't see. The vision on the left eye is unstable. Never the less, Sergei once managed to be at the opera, just to listen to it. (they say, he ran away from doctors then ). Sergei's mother, Natalia, says she is not ready to forgive people, who did it to her son. Sergei says, he can't understand these people, because they forgot that he has children....
  4. Yes, dear Toursenlair, the photo is visible! Hope everybody here can watch a brief interview Filin gave to RussianTV http://www.1tv.ru/news/culture/239535 He speaks about the progress in his treatment, which will allow him to start working in Bolshoi in September, while sometimes coming back to German clinic for the minor (i suppose) operations. He said this trip to London was a very good treatment for him...
  5. Yes, Filin is in London and as far as I can see in twitter , he is at the ROH now
  6. The article I would recommend is this one, by Graham Watts. It is surprisingly approving, written about the 5th of August performance. http://londondance.com/articles/reviews/bolshoi-ballet-the-sleeping-beauty/#.UgJQ-7lULQs.twitter
  7. No happy ending in this renewed version. But, yes, in general I don't like Grigorovich rendition of Swan Lake
  8. Exclusive video in the Telegraph, Krysanova speaks : http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/theatre/dance/10209511/A-dance-class-with-the-Bolshoi-ballet-ahead-of-their-first-performance-of-Swan-lake.html
  9. Well, now Komsomolskaya Pravda says Angelina Vorontsova does not want to renew her contract with Bolshoi, due the "insufficient amount of work and the lack of creative growth" , she added that she has got some good propositions from other companies: http://www.kp.ru/online/news/1474056/
  10. MAB, I have found this article from "Zavtra" in the internet, so it is visible and readable around the world. Even more than that, I saw the same link at the Russian ballet forum. This newspaper was named there as an untrustworthy source of information.. As you can see, later I posted a link to another article, which says Angelina Vorontsova represents Bolshoi in Kazakhstan. As for oxymoron - I am completely agree with you. But may be you don't know that Stalin was the first to re-open orthodox churches, during the war. He was using churches for his own reasons ( too long story to discuss). Prochanov is , obviously, a Stalinist , but these days this title is out of fashion. So, "Russian -orthodox- communists" is not my invention, this is what they say about themselves. I was also shocked.
  11. Latest news: Kazakhstan - Astana: "Bolshoi, this time is represented by Karim Abdullin and Angelina Vorontsova, whose name now is related to the notorious "acid story" http://www.kazpravda.kz/c/1372379125
  12. Voluntary withdrawal of Angelina Vorontsova is probably due to the fact that Dmitrichenko is in jail and her teacher, Tsiskaridze, will not work in the theater. The newspaper "Завтра" at the very mocking tone said about the situation in Bolshoi. "Завтра" calls everything that happened in the theater " a love-industrial novel" with "King, Queen and Jack" involved.(For those not informed: there was no romantic interest between S.Filin and A.Vorontsova) I would not trust this source of information that much. Well, earlier, Tsiskaridze (in his interview to Le Figaro) was talking about the possibility that Angelina will leave the Bolshoi) P.S. The newspaper "Завтра" ("Tomorrow") - is the nationalist newspaper, led by the " Russian-Orthodox -Communist" writer Prochanov. This newspaper, for example, informs readers about the terrorist attack in Boston in the spirit of the theory of conspiracy. You can see the picture here: http://zavtra.ru/content/view/podozrevaemyij/
  13. This is a typical complication and that's what some people who has a contact to the Aachen clinic say. This is not official. Let us hope doctors will sort out all these problems.
