  1. What a great review - thank you! I'd be really surprised if the "cast sheet only with programme rule" came from ENB. I've heard this lots of time from theatre staff, and checked it with the ENB marketing department, who always insist that patrons can get cast sheets without having to buy programmes. I assume that the theatre gets a healthy cut from programmesales - hence their misinformation.
  2. I am incapable of twittering, or whatever it is I would have to do, so all the more grateful for your update. Thank you.
  3. Absolutely! I saw Gary dance Rakitin a while ago and his dramatic qualities really enhanced the whole show. Personally, I like the lack of melodrama in Alina's performance (the dramatic "departure from the room, arms thrown back" approach always seemed to evoke more laughter than anything else, in my recollection). But I agree the performance as a whole didn't seem cohesive - perhaps tomorrow's show will develop in the right direction.
  4. I haven't seen this noted elsewhere, so in case it hasn't been ... Jose Martin had a solo curtain call on Tuesday evening after his Gurn, and was applauded by the other dancers on stage, which I take to mean that he is leaving the Royal and that he has now danced his final show. I've enjoyed many of his performances - Puck and Lescaut stand out, as well as Gurn - and will miss him. Justin
  5. Having had to work on Friday, I only caught the rerun of class and Alice. Nice to see bits appearing on youtube. Overall, a great initiative, and even if not appealing to the complete non-ballet goer, will cetainly stimulate those who come occasionally, and those who haven't been for a while, I think. In passing, I am no expert, but Alexander Campbell's tendus from fifth (in class) looked technically perfect to me: shame they are now on the cutting room floor!
  6. Probably an easy/naive question, but are there likely to be more than one casting for each of these? I'd like to book for a particular cast for "Within the golden hour" but don't know whether the three shows would have the same cast.
