Hi Ballet4Boyz, I am so sorry and I feel for you so much. Can I ask if you have tried YDA? They are a loving school and is a full time vocational school that cares.... They also look at potential and do some funding. Please stay strong and be positive for your Ds... Good luck with the rest of the auditions. x

I have been following this link and I can only say please don't give up. My daughter auditioned in Year 7 and was told no, then she auditioned and got year 9, but then got assessed out and is a lot happier in another school. She has just had her letter from Tring for upper school and got a YES for a funded place in September !!! So please remember that sometimes life has a way of sorting itself out... The ballet world is a funny business... Stay strong and don't think its the end. xx

Hi My DD was also offered a place for the summer school this year, along with a ballet trainee program full time, however the cost of this was just far too much - even with an amount of scholarship offered, it was going to be too expensive with school and also boarding. Its offer is very tempting, but then having phoned an enquired into more detail, it was just going to be in the thousands. I think its great for the summer school but full time is just too much money. Good luck to swan princess, a great experience and you never know where things lead to.

Hi Can someone help me? I have emailed two users in private messages and not had a reply. I have looked at my sent mail and it has block in Red ?? When I unblock it goes green, but still says this is blocked? Does anyone have any idea about this as I am desperate to get some information from these two members? Thanks

Sounds like your daughter has done well anyway so far... Congrats to her on all she has achieved. I too had concerns of not doing summer schools, however my dd's dance teacher has said just doing everyday stretching and keeping loose should be enough!! Sometimes this is when they get injuries doing far too much and not having a rest !! Also not everyone has money for summer schools on top on vocational full time school!! Surely in the school term should be more than enough to learn, or something is wrong if its not enough that you have to spend more money on summer school fees....as well. Nice that she can have a normal life for a few weeks I say. x

Claudia Dean leaving the Royal Ballet
krishell replied to SPD444's topic in Ballet / Dance news & information
How true are Claudia's words : they don't live up to your expectations..... We as a family in the last few months have had that experience and sometimes things aren't always what they seem to be..... Also sometimes you have to put things in to perspective - ones happiness is more important... Why wouldn't she want to return to Australia - NO PLACE LIKE HOME.... Enjoy your new adventure..... -
Hi Sorry, yes I thought it was for the summer school. thanks.

Hi Did your DD get a reserve place with funding or reserve place and has to pay? My daughter got a place but without funding, so not sure if we will take this place. We have the 2nd week down.

Hi Just following up on the last few comments regarding the Induction Day. Does anybody know if the induction day is for any other year also? Or is it only for the new year 7's? This day sounds great and would be a great help to our DD and for us as parents too. Thanks for the information.

Hi JA Dad The envelope was addressed to me (mother) not my partner, so it is possible your letter could be it ! Plain envelope white (no logo). A4 size...... Not long to wait now... We wait with anticipation. I also thought it was junk mail and opened it 10 mins later after telling my DD that nothing has come. What a surprise we got. Fingers crossed for you.
