  1. The pas de trois was danced by Laura Morera , Yuhui Choe and Steven McRae. There wasn't a pas de trois in act 3 in this version.
  2. Dawnstar, I think the reason for McRae wanting to dance with Sarah Lamb has a lot do do with overcoming the trauma of his Achilles injury. Just my thoughts, I know but he trusts Sarah, dancing with Akane may have brought back bad memories.
  3. Absolutely gutted for Steven. I hope he isn't seriously hurt and has stopped as a precaution.
  4. I thought I would share my thoughts on Saturdays matinee performance. First, I absolutely loved the whole show, I don't think I could find any fault with this cast as they worked so well together. I was glad my initial feelings about Acosta's production based on seeing it on the first run have been overridden by becoming more familiar with the staging, and I was glad to see much more detail than on previous occasions. As to the cast I can say I was really taken with Anna Rose O Sullivan's debut as Kitri, she had the technique as well as the characterisation for the role( no sign of nerves with the fouetees in the coda). She also had a wonderful rapport with her partner. Basilio really should be Steven McRae's role, and on Saturday he definitely delivered, not just in the bravura dancing but his characterisation was perfect, much improved on the last time I saw him ten years ago. His energy and enthusiasm was electrifying!!! He certainly embodies the Spanish style so well. Needless to say I left the theatre on a high. I would love see this cast again later.
  5. The Panorama documentary is available on BBC iPlayer now.
  6. If anyone is interested there is a photo gallery and a short video of the curtain call on the Dance Europe website.
  7. I believe the reason that two casts appear to be marked as being filmed is because of a documentary that Steven McRae and his team are making about his return from injury. One of his Swan Lake dates is also set to be filmed. I believe the first cast will be the one screened, not the Mcrae one.
  8. I have the Dream /Symphonic Variations/M and A on DVD and it's a really good picture on my basic TV Alison.
  9. I would be very surprised to see McRae back at all this season.
  10. The Sound of Movie Musicals programme is in 3 parts, the first of which starts on Friday 14th December on BBC4 at 9 pm.
  11. It has been mentioned on the ROH news page and on McRae's social media pages that he won't be back before Romeo and Juliet.
  12. Incidentally for anyone interested in Mayara Magri there is a video clip on the ROH facebook page of a rehearsal from Act 2 of Mayerling.
  13. What I do not understand is why McRae has been named in the Swan Lake casting for the tour to Madrid. I thought the reason there were only six casts for the London run was due to time and money.
  14. Sarah lamb has also danced Aurora and Juliet in cinema screenings in recent years.
  15. I have a spare amphitheatre ticket £31 if you would like it. Please reply ASAP as I have to leave to travel at 8.15 am.
  16. I don't suppose it matters about the cast sheets as they aren't printed too far in advance. However Polunins' bio and picture were in the recent programme I bought.
  17. Geoff, I think the events in the ballet take course over a period of eight years which would make Mary about 10 in Act 1. so you are correct. Stephanie was 16 when she married Rudolph, who would have been aged 22 when he married and 30 when he died.
  18. I think McRae did partner Morera last time round, replacing Bonelli if I remember correctly.
