Lifeafterballet
Are foot stretchers beneficial or not. I am debating as to whether I should purchase one for Dd and Ds. I am getting conflicting views from articles. Physiotherapists don't seem to recommend them. Does any one have any experience or advice! sarahw
I think there was a thread relatively recently. I seem to remember not recommended. Will look for it.

taxi4ballet
My dd had a go with one belonging to a friend that she brought to class once, they set it to maximum, but her feet are so arched it didn't do anything at all! Not sure about these - they sound like an instrument of torture to me...
Mariska
My DS uses one of these excersice (resistance) band (Theraband), which his teacher much more recommends than a foot stretcher. His ballet class (year 6) was intrigued by the arch of one of the older boys in year 11, where they were allowed to watch one of the lessons, as their lesson was cancelled, and he showed them how he used the Ttheraband to do it. They spoke to their teacher and he recommended it too. They use the blue band, which strength wise is one below green, which has the strongest resistance.
