taxi4ballet Posted August 24, 2014 Share Posted August 24, 2014 It's a good idea to get a cotton one - some places use stick-on labels for the audition and they have a tendency to come off shiny leotards, as dd once found out when she saw her label stuck to the floor by her feet...! I ordered both http://www.dancedirect.com/uk/Products/Ballet/P12/ this one from plume which is a lovely cut but comes down quite low at the front  And this bloch one http://www.dancedirect.com/uk/Products/Ballet/L5407/ which is very comfortable and is quite high leg but the cut is not as flattering, also note it comes up a little smaller  do the leotards have to be black for auditions? 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

A plain tank or cami leotard in a colour she likes (and which suits her), ballet socks (unless tights specified), and shoes with elastics in case they want to look at her feet. sarahw Posted August 25, 2014 Share Posted August 25, 2014 Hi We were advised coloured on the pale side for younger ones. They like belts as well apparently. You can go for a flesh coloured body underneath if reqd. If you have one already that does the job than use it. All the audition letters make it clear they don't want you to spend for the audition. Our uniform leotards weren't suitable so did have to buy. As an example we found the capezio 'princess' cami in white or pink did the job. DD very skinny. Pas de Quatre Posted August 25, 2014 Share Posted August 25, 2014 At RBS Audition Insight days when they are talking about the upcoming auditions, they always recommend a coloured leotard rather than black.
