Cold, hungry and with just one final match flame to keep her warm, she sees a vision of her beloved grandmother. Leaving her troubled life behind, the Little Match Girl is guided up into the night sky by her grandmother who takes her to the moon. Now, on a clear night, if you look closely, you might see the light of a shooting star, or is it a match burning brightly?Award-winning choreographer Pita returns to DanceEast following recent successes God's Garden and Critics' Circle National Dance Award-winning The Metamorphosis. http://www.danceeast.co.uk/whats-on/710/ARTHUR-PITA--THE-LITTLE-MATCH-GIRL/
Jan McNulty
This sounds an absolute delight - shame it is so far from Liverpool! I wonder if it will tour at some stage?
JulieW
Yes - Janet - they are touring in the New Year. I'll see what I can find out but I don't think it's all decided yet.

alison
Didn't Luke Jennings review it in the Observer at the weekend, too, or is that the same link? I hadn't realised Corey was in it until then.

JulieW
I gather there are other venues in the pipeline but not confirmed. I'd better not say where in case I get told off!
JulieW
Resurrecting an old thread as Arthur Pita's The Little Matchgirl is back again this year. Almost sold out in London in their pre-Christmas run but I've just changed dates so released a couple of tickets for tomorrow! And there are still some available. I highly recommend it for young and old (although very sad, Arthur's given it a twist at the end to ensure youngsters leave satisfied). I love the live music and the slight whackiness about it. And if you're fortunate to see Corey Annand in the lead role, you're in for a treat (although the whole cast are fantastic). https://www.thelittlematchgirltour.com/
