I wonder whether the absence of reviews of Eifman's Onegin thus far is just a reflection of publication priorities over a bank holiday weekend, or whether the critics all had other things to attend to?

I enjoyed Sarah Crompton's piece on Fred Astaire and Top Hat. I saw Tom Chambers in the musical at the Lowry last year. To my way of thinking, and much to his merit, he put his own stamp on the part and didn't try to play Fred Astaire playing the role.

Janet: A very odd Telegraph day - they also have a Celeb News piece on the Dance page, purely on account of a single mention of the word 'ballet' in a snippet about Oona Chaplin. In a similar vein, we could fill the thread every day with pieces mentioning 'ballet flats' or 'ballet pumps' if we relied simply on search engines.

I know we don't usually do foreign-language ones, but a Spanish-language press report on Rojo's appointment here: http://www.abc.es/20120412/cultura-teatros/abci-tamara-rojo-directora-ballet-201204122145.html (and if anyone with better Spanish than mine would like to point out to them that Markova and Dolin weren't Russian, please feel free :) )
