toursenlair
4* for BRB's Swan Lake: http://www.telegraph...ome-review.html "Peter Wright’s Swan Lake just gets on with it. This is an understatement, certainly, in the context of such a resplendent production. But, in a world groaning with ego-driven demolitions of the 19th-century Tchaikovsky classics, it is also the ultimate compliment." I LOVE it!!!! aileen
Is there any indication that this exhibition is to tour? Who owns the Nureyev costumes? I saw the Diaghilev and the Ballets Russes exhibition at the V&A and some of the costumes on display belonged to the museum. I don't know if they own any of the Nureyev costumes. tim b
My understanding is that this is basically the same exhibition that was displayed in the French National Museum of Fashion which is in Moulins - central France (our equivalent is in Bath). I went to see it there a year or so ago and understood most of the costumes shown were from Paris Opera's collection of Nureyev productions. The exhibition seems to have been successful and consequently it has been announced that some sort of permanent display will be set up there in 2013 which will coincide with the twentieth anniversay of RN's death. Moulins is about three hours ride from Paris on the train but thanks to the regularity and timings of SNCF just about do-able as a day trip from Paris. For F1 enthusiasts Magny Cours (?spelling) is just up the road!
