If you apply really early you can sometimes specify which audition date you prefer. We had to do that last year with one school as one of their audition dates clashed with an unmissable family occasion.

Sorry if this has been covered many times before but does anyone have an idea how many DADAs are available for Upper School students at Elmhurst and NBS Manchester? At Elmhurst will their own students have a priority?

As far as I remember, the numbers of DADAs available isn't a finite number of places per school, it is dependent on how much is awarded to each successful applicant calculated on a sliding scale based on their family income. So the number of places awarded with funding will be different each year.

Each school has a set amount from the Government and the DADAs are awarded on merit starting at the top of the list, and working down until the pot runs out.

Hope that makes sense!

Just a little update here. DD did her first audition for NSCD on Saturday. She loved it. Really enjoyed the ballet class in particular. There was a cut after they did their solos and she made it through to the afternoon session. So now we wait to see if she gets an offer or is on the wait list.

I was so happy it was such a positive experience for her as it was her first audition. It has been great for her confidence. So onwards and upwards to the Codarts and Fontys auditions.

I hope everyone else is getting on well.

Thanks sarahw!

Well today she got an offer of a place on the foundation course. She had hoped for the BA but is happy nonetheless with this offer as she is only 17 , not turning 18 until after her exams.

Has anyone any experience or knowledge about the foundation course?

Does anyone know how many girls roughly ENB take to finals and what the orthopaedic assessment involves?

Thanks.

Congratulations to your DD Sniffymum … 2 years ago I think there were around 26 at finals. The physio assessment looked at feet/flexibility and spine - I'm sure others on here will remember more from last year - good luck for finals :D

Congratulations to your DD carmen67. I know she will love it - all the students seem to.  I'm at NSCD tomorrow if you would like me to ask any questions on your behalf I am more than happy to do so.  Just PM me.  Happy to help!

Thank you Huddsballetmum.

I really appreciate your kind offer! I have no questions right now but might well have some down the line. We got a great tour of the school on Saturday and I was really impressed, particularly with the pastoral and general care of student wellbeing.

Also they seem to be really helpful with finding accommodation, which for us, over here in Ireland is invaluable!

Thanks flexible Fred, he auditioned on the 13th for rbs, and tore the muscle in his groin at the end so his tring audition on the 15th didn't go well, but really hoping for good news from tring or he will be a very sad boy:(

Best wishes dancing10 for your Tring results. Took a couple of weeks last year when DD auditioned there. Finals was a lot quicker.x

I know it was for year 10 entry, but when we were waiting for Tring results a couple of years ago it took 5 weeks for the first audition results. Second audition results next day though! Doesnt seem to be any set procedure with Tring. Keep strong everyone.
