  3. As many of you know, the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) have recently launched their new classical ballet performance programme, Discovering Repertoire, and we at the North East Dance Co-operative think it is perfect to launch our next phase of Co-op Classes! What makes our Co-op Classes unique is that there is no traditional hierarchy as you would find in more standardised dance environments — individual members work as a team of equals, rather than a teacher or a studio owner being the primary decision-maker. Our Co-op Classes are all about peer-to-peer collaborative learning, sharing collective knowledge and experience and together enjoying a truly unique dance experience. We are very excited to be getting back to the roots of where the NEDC all started, and launch the next generation of Co-operative Classes! For more information, please message us with your email address and we will send you a PDF with all the details. You can message us here: www.facebook.com/NorthEastDanceCooperative Also, you may like to check out this video introducing the Discovering Repertoire programme: https://bit.ly/2JT6gWu Here is the link to our original Facebook post about our Co-op Classes: https://bit.ly/2HcWKzC (Likes and Shares are very much appreciated as it helps us raise awareness of the NEDC and build our Co-op community ) NB: This is not a commercial venture. Those who register to take Co-op Classes work together and pool resources (including equally dividing studio hire costs) and no profits are taken. For more details please ask for our Co-op Classes PDF. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch. I will be keeping an eye on this thread, but to ensure a timely reply I suggest sending a message via our Facebook Page: www.facebook.com/NorthEastDanceCooperative Kindest, Angeline Founder, North East Dance Co-operative

  6. Hi BalletIAM, Just to let you know I have sent you an email, so if you do not receive it please feel free to get my attention here. Kindest, Angeline
  7. Hi RHowarth, thank you very much, that is very kind. Sadly I am yet to be well enough to teach regularly again myself, even after all these years (Dance City being my last hoorah - I so miss it!), but I am hoping to start building a team around me who can actualise the vision I have for the co-op. I am also searching out potential teachers who might be able to assist a few private vocational students who have contacted me looking for supplementary training. Thanks so much for your suggestions, I know what my work will be today By the way, if you haven’t already do please check out the NEDC Facebook Page - we have a few events we are on the cusp of announcing that you might be interested in. Thanks again!
  8. Hi Vonrothbart (love the name!), essentially any teachers residing in the North East of England or who regularly (or are happy to) deliver classes in the region.
  9. I’m looking for recommendations for the best dance teachers in the North East, and I know as a community you are likely the most informed in the UK on such matters. Mostly I am interested in sourcing classical ballet teachers, but I am keen to hear recommendations for all the primary theatre branch subjects and contemporary dance too. I look forward to hearing your thoughts! Many thanks, and kindest wishes, Angeline
  10. Hello Boogalou, You may be interested to know that the North East Dance Co-operative are planning to co-host a one-day Pointe Shoe Fitting Course in Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 2018 (likely in the Spring). This course will be suitable for dance teachers/practitioners/facilitators, teaching assistants, trainee teachers, professional dancers and dance students who have started or are about to start pointe work. For student dancers, our ambition is to empower them to be able to have greater autonomy over the pointe shoe fitting process and provide them with the vocabulary to better communicate their requirements to their teachers/professional fitters. For teachers our aim was to host CPD that could inform their work in a direct and relevant way, and provide training that many only haven’t attended thus far due to geographical proximity. You can read more about the course via our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/NorthEastDanceCooperative If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me. Kindest, Angeline Founder, NEDC
