  1. Thank you. She’s had her operation and is home. Remarkably, although the wound was down to the vital structures they were all intact. All cleaned and closed. Back in on Monday to see how it’s looking. Then we’ll know more about recovery time etc. She’s ok though, in herself 😊

My dd was number 3 in the blue leotard:)

Aw, they danced together in the corner work 😊. It’s been a surreal couple of days for us. She’s in for an operation on her foot tomorrow. Possible small broken bone and tendon injury. Quite a deep soft tissue wound in the top of her foot which is full of grit and needs cleaning out better than they could do under local anaesthetic. Anyhow, they’ll patch her up and we’ll have to see how it heals 🙄.

  3. My daughter was in the second class yesterday. Number 4 - in the Mulberry leotard. She didn’t wear her RBS JA leotard as I thought maybe it looks a little rude to the school to wear another schools leotard?! Anyhow, she loved it. Fingers crossed for everyone. This morning hasn’t gone so well, she’s had her foot run over walking to school, so we’re sat in A and E 😭!

Thank you for starting this thread. Does anyone know if the leotards come up small? I’m tempted to get a 3A for my daughter going into year 6 because she’s tall for her age.  But then again 3A is for age 12-14 which sounds a bit big!

I would say they come up fairly large.

My daughter is coming to the end of year 5 and still wears a size 1 (she’s 138cm tall and slim build). I originally ordered a 2 and it was massive.

Hi does anyone have any idea when the junior associate audition results for Totnes are out? Thanks!!

I can tell you that last year we got the Totnes result on 7th June. BUT the results come out more or less in the order that the auditions took place in. Last year Totnes was one of the first auditions, this year one of the last, so will probably be a bit later than the 7th. What year is your child auditioning for a place for?

My main question is do they require an adult to stay on site throughout the audition?

You won’t need to stay. You sign your child in and leave your name and phone number. You could also leave your mum’s name and number and explain it could be either of you collecting. You just will need someone relatively close by in case there is a problem and they need to ring you to come and get her 😊.

Thank you @Darkbeans this makes sense... and also makes DDs chance even smaller

I’m glad it makes sense. I wasn’t sure if I was just being confusing 😂! The chances are slim, but someone has to get in and you don’t lose anything by trying 😊

Oh ok, so there isn’t potentially 16 y4 places? (Think I saw this in the YouTube introduction, that there was approx 16 places, obviously boys and girls) but 16 JA1 places?

I can only really comment about Totnes as that’s where my daughter is a JA, but I believe that’s the case. I would also say they would take up to 16 - DD JA1 class currently has 12. Last yr at Totnes they took 4 yr 4s and 3 yr 5s in to that class. (The rest of the class are yr 5s who were yr4 JAs last year.)

Does anyone know, why when they have so many groups they mix ages? There were 4 groups at DDs audition and she was in with 3 friends, 2 for year 4 places and 1 for year 5. I couldn’t work out why they weren’t split?

I guess because they are auditioning for a place in the same class? - The JA1 class is a year 4/5 class.

  10. My daughter is an RBS JA at Totnes and Ballet Boost Associate in Exeter. She has never auditioned for Elmhurst Young Dancers as TBH it would be difficult to fit it in for us. However, I do know a little about it from others that do do it. I’m happy to PM you if you want any specific info.

I thought the Wednesday evening rehearsals were in Covent Garden when I made enquiries back in July...

My husband was given a sheet with the specific times and dates of all rehearsals (I can dm you a copy if you like!) All rehearsals until the performance dates are listed as Birmingham.

Bit worried we will hit cancellations etc on the trains next week. Best charge the phone for emergency re routing! 😆😆

DS said to ask how many boys were there today? 👍👍 xx

Definitely check the trains - they quite often do works on the weekend so as not to affect commuters. I did check about a week ago and didn’t spot any mention of anything!

DD said there were about 20 children in her audition group, of which 2 were boys. X

Wow! You've got a brave husband taking DD to an audition, my husband struggles with dance classes! 🙄  Hope it went well for your DD, we're there next Sunday.....first time doing anything like this! 😳

I’m not sure he was that keen (particularly as he had to do her hair etc as well!) but he braved it 😂. DD had a lovely time - particularly enjoyed the repertoire. I have to say though, looking in detail at the rehearsal schedule, even if she were to be chosen I think we’d struggle to do it - 4 Wednesday evening rehearsals in Birmingham would be a challenge, being that we live in Cornwall 🤦‍♀️!!
