  1. Still confused, how can it be full time with no academics what age is full time for?
  2. With the school scheme you now have to pay the first £100 and there is only 14 physio sessions per year under the scheme.
  3. This is again the position where the schools may not know if there will be any spaces when the auditions first take place. The schools usually don't know until the apprasials come around if any child will be assessed out. So there may have been no places when the first auditions took place but now there could be. Also Elmhurst has very flexible accommodation so beds generlly isn't an issue. Bankrupt mum our thoughts are with you as it is a very tough time for both the family ad your daughter, good luck in the future.
  4. We were given a hint at the teacher meeting in the December but they wouldn't give us a clear "you may get assessed out" I think it all depends on Ms Stock and how you do on the day.
  5. I believe Sansia does but only on a certain Sunday we're going up Saturday so will have a look.
  6. I agree, I remember last year someone was posting regularly about waiting for the postman then nothing. I've always wondered what the outcome was. It must help those receiving no's to know that their not on their own. But it isn't the end and you are spared the angiush of yearly apprasials and being assessed out. Good luck to those who have taken or about to do their apprasials and hope the schools don't keep you waiting to long for the result.
  7. I'm intrigued to what comments are on the first page of this topic. My work PC will let me see the second page but when I try to look at the first page it is blocked for pornograghic and adult material!! My DS has what is known as a very classical build but it didn't stop him being assessed out of W/L. Amonst the boys it was very difficult to see what they were looking for as they were all very different. They did seem to prefer shorter boys where Elmhurst seems to prefer taller. I expect we will never know
  8. Congratulations Julie from us. Hope it's not to far from home and that there are not to many language difficulties. Well done
  9. I just want to wish Ruth the best of luck starting with Birmingham Royal Ballet. Ruth tried unsuccessfully to get a place at RBS and then trained at Tring Park from 6th form followed by ENB school then into ENB company where she has been for a few years. http://balletnews.co.uk/birmingham-royal-ballet-announces-new-dancer-to-join-the-company/ Just shows that if you don't get into a vocational school at 11 you can still get into a top company. Best of luck from us
  10. For beds to be available for year 8/11 it does usually mean that someone will have had to be assessed out to make a bed available! Though there are occassionally beds that are not filled through RBS choice.
  11. 2 years ago the year 11's had to audition along with everyone else. In effect they auditioned 3 times, 1st audition, apprasial then finals. For some reason the 6th form never seems to get the numbers the lower school has. There are only 4/5 boys in graduate year and only 8 in 2nd year I think it was only 1 boy from year 11 who decided to stay on last year. Shouldn't complain nice small classes compared to lower school. Beds play a part as Lyndhurst has only got so many. Can't remember how many though.
  12. Have to agree with w445403 when donations were asked for last year not enough came forward. So money was returned. When you see how many views for each topic it shows how popular the site is. I hope a way forward can be found.
