GRAND AUDITION was founded in 2016 by David and Daria Makhateli, directors of the D&D Art Productions. It is the first and only international ballet company audition project which helps young professional ballet dancers and graduate students to demonstrate their skills in front of several artistic directors of the world’s leading ballet companies. GRAND AUDITION provides a unique opportunity for dancers to audition for several ballet companies at one time and in one place. Since its first edition in 2016, a total of 473 dancers took part in Grand Audition with over 160 job offers from companies such as: ABT, Ballet de l’Opera National de Bordeaux, Ekaterinburg State Academic Ballet Theater, Polish National Ballet, Lithuanian National Ballet, Atlanta Ballet, Mariinsky Ballet, Norwegian National Ballet, Finnish National Ballet, Royal Swedish Ballet, Dutch National Ballet, Ballet Nacional de Panama, Novosibirsk State Ballet Theater, Mikailovsky Ballet Theater. D&D INTENSIVE BALLET MASTERCLASS Where: Institut del Teatre – Plaça de Margarida Xirgu, s/n, 08004 Barcelona When: July 16-26 – 2018 Deadline for applications: July 1, 2018 D&D ART PRODUCTIONS is to hold 5th edition of INTENSIVE BALLET MASTERCLASS (IBM) in Barcelona, Spain. IBM is a 10-day training program in classical dance with a comprehensive curriculum designed for serious ballet students between 12 to 20 years of age. We offer excellent ballet training which explores the wider world of dance. IBM offers students the opportunity to work with our outstanding international ballet professors. We prepare students for the next step of their professional career. Our individualised guidance helps students to overcome the difficulties of the training and effortlessly transition into the professional world of dance! D&D annually holds it’s Masterclasses Internationally in Panama, Barcelona, Tokyo and Osaka. Come and join us this summer combine sea and sun holidays, discover the world of dance and celebrate with us 5 years anniversary. D&D will hold pre-selections for 2019 Grand Audition during the summer intensive program, scholarships (free access) to Grand Audition will be offered to the dancers between 17 to 20 years of age. In adition: 19 dancers have been put on "Interest List" and may be contacted by the directors at a later time or may be asked to attend company class (in this case Company will cover the travel costs of the dancer) This concludes 2018 Grand Audition! Dear Friends, I know you all want to know how many offers was there, well, there was 23 contract ofers, 19 standby on the waiting list / or interests. Novosibirsk has 4 dancers on stanby and they are concidering them. We are waiting for dancers to confirm their acceptance of the offers, as you have seen on FB / Instagram we post dancers who has confirmed and accepted the positions. We will keep posting all updates. We only have 4 dancers who confirmed acceptance of contracts, they are: Orine Anzai - Japan, confirmed and accepted contract from Mariinsky MARGARIDA TRIGUEIROS - Portugal, confirmed and accepted contract from Lithuanian Ballet company ANATOLE BLAINEAU - France, accepted contract from Royal Swedish Ballet Kira Hilli - Finland, accepted contract from Het National Ballet Junior company We look forward to hear from others. Dear Ellie, Yes, we do inform potential candidates once there are no more places, in addition "Online Registration Form" is taken down and dancers are not able to apply. Regrading your second question, we only invite Companies who has contracts to offer, this is the main goal for Grand Audition. This project is created specifically to help dancers to find a job.
