  1. My DD also did York Ballet scholars a couple of years ago and loved it. Highly recommend especially for a first residential. Rooms are lovely, staff very friendly and a high standard of dancing. Food was good and they got to use the swimming pool!
  2. For sale - one Degas Camisole 9502 leotard in Grenat size 12A only worn on a couple of occasions. Price £20 postage £2.99 Recorded. PM me for photos. Payment via PayPal or Bank Transfer only.
  3. So pleased for you both my lovely after such hard work and dedication to be given this opportunity - so deserved!!
  4. Atacrossroads- could you explain in what position you are in to have the authority to state this definitively or is this just hearsay?
  5. That’s very frustrating. Plus if you feel self conscious enough already having to demonstrate and ask for critic if it’s a general class won’t help. Any opportunity for a private lesson?
  6. YDA and the current Y11 deserves a bit of a pat on the back don’t they!
  7. Shaky shaky shaky, waving and doing big swoopy circles with ‘em 😘👏👏😂😂😂😂
  8. Thank you for replying - I’m a teensy bit worried about Tring interviewing mini pv as just this week I overheard her discussing Ballet future, fees and scholarship details with her piano teacher and how daddy wants “Joon to go into the light” (great grandma June is languishing is some comfort in a care home up North and may well outlive us all). There was a lot of warning coughing from me waiting outside.
  9. Hope everyone had a good time at YDA finals today! Good luck! Can anyone tell me - at the Tring preliminary audition for Y7 Dance are the candidates interviewed? Or is that only at the later funding audition?
  10. Come back and visit Balletco as often as you can - best of luck to you and your DD on her new adventures. * wait taxi! Don’t log off yet - I’ve just thought of something VERY important I need to ask a long time stalwart of DoingDance and I’m sure this question hasn’t been raised before and I have DEFINITELY searched for it and just can’t see an answer? ...SOCKS..... or TIGHTS? ;-)
  11. Yes drop them an email as results were sent out Monday x
  12. Yes exactly Pom poms waiving for all the yes’s from me xx
  13. Brilliant news Dancer so excited for you guys!!!! Pom poms of triumph waiving furiously!!!!
  14. Exciting news, congratulations! We are going to look forward to coming and watching it this year and spotting some familiar faces! X
  15. There will be a mini pv on tour!! Haha - she will be thrilled after just getting to finals last year!
  16. Keep encouraging Mak!! Each year is different I imagine and they are looking for such specific casts each time. Next time they could be exactly the right fit and sail through auditions you just never know?? Come on dawdling postie..
  17. Fantastic news marguerite!!!! Pom poms of triumph are waiving at you!! Its been a while since I’ve waived them and predictive text does not make task any easier I see.
  18. Sorry to hear that MAK, just to get to finals in a tough full cast all bells and whistles production Year is a tough one. No post for us yet but another friend received a No letter this morning and she’s a fabulous dancer so...ugh.
  19. Since him upstairs started working from home regularly the only time we go out of our way to chat face to face is over an audition coffee. Usually it’s via the landline intercom. We don’t even use names anymore just “TOPFLOOR!” ”...hello lounge?” good luck to everyone tmrw xx
  20. Thank you luv! She doesn’t want me to say anything - stiff upper lip and all that. Maybe if I stand in the queue and loudly proclaim “you can hardly see the bruises through her tights” in an offhand way...very subtly.. Lower expectations enough to pave way for shock amazingness. No. I’m going to drop kick her into Central and trot off in search off more fussy, over priced, takes ages and is tepid when finally arrives Holborn hipster coffee (Prufrock I’m looking at you)
  21. I’m not sure what to do so I’m hoping balletcoers can help? DD had an accident at school just over a week ago when a whole stack of benches fell on her as she was pulling them out for assembly. Right leg and foot took the worst of it so she hasn’t been dancing since just resting and icing. The swelling has gone down and most of the bruising though some still visible down her leg and a tiny bit across her foot. She went back to normal Ballet on Friday (no pointe work) and had no complaints and has been walking to school and back in her normal shoes for the last three days (was wearing loose trainers) so I was hoping all on track for her audition for LCB tomorrow. But then she came back from associates today and said she only marked the class as her foot cricked and she couldn’t dance on it? Her foot often “cricks” though and she just waits till it cricks back and carries on. This time she couldn’t. I thought she’d be fine and now I’m worried - should I mention anything at Finals tomorrow or just leave it be? I don’t want to make it look like I’m making any excuses or being a bit pushy so I’d rather not say anything. To look at her dancing around to Strictly now there doesn’t seem to be a thing wrong with her, jumping, up on her toes, all seems painless? But then she’s not doing any Ballet specifically just mucking around... Plus I know if I do work up the courage to say anything I’ll just go bright red and not make a single bit of sense or have my innocent but “resting bitch face” entirely misinterpreted as the snowflake rearing helicopter parent I really dread. (DD currently has fake plastic rose clutched between her toes balancing on that bad foot trying to touch back of head with it to the strains of We’re In The Money just to put in context)
