  1. We are offering £30 tickets for the performance of Lucia di Lammermoor on Monday 22nd April. The performance lasts for 3 hours, including 1 interval. You can purchase tickets via the ROH website here. Once you select the relevant date, you will be directed to a page where you'll be able to enter a code. Please enter the code PRELUDIO30 in the box and click apply.
  2. When I left the amphitheatre there was a lot of glass near the doors, including on the floor - small tumblers etc, so with or without anyone smashing glass, that alone was serious a trip hazard.
  3. From what I heard in the amphitheatre + then saw outside on the pavement, only makes me think that ROH need to further prepare on how to handle this situation in the future, especially with the ongoing decline in audience behaviour, for many reasons, to protect the staff, public + the artists.
  4. Yes, after the unnerving + unpredictable commotion during Different Drummer, came out Piazza exit + walked around to Bow Street + saw approximately 6 Met police officers restraining someone on the pavement outside the main entrance with other patrons looking on. The person was resisting + making the same loud noises as could be heard in the amphitheatre, at that point I decided to go home, but hoped they were able to deescalate the situation as it looked pretty volatile.
  5. Really wanted to see Forsythe's Blake Works II, will that be part of the programme? Really enjoyed ENB in Blake Works I + know the second installation was premiered last year in Milan + Berlin?
  6. It was on Instagram on Tuesday I think, yes it's now expired, but sure they will keep re-posting other stories.
  7. I was an usher for the Christmas period at ROH a decade ago + remember we used to have to push the marketing when ticket sales were very low at the Linbury via then Twitter etc. However at the theatre I now usher at, we stopped using TodayTix last year because of big issues with them publishing the wrong start time (!) + also selling duplicate seats. I can see + have seen how ROH are trying to reach out to new audiences, especially to those who are tech savvy to fill the empty seats + make bigger profits, I'm not for or against third party sellers, so will be interesting to see how it pans out for ROH. However, one thing I did notice recently that really shocked me was how ROH is now re-posting/sharing stories on their official Instagram from the public, not from influencers or anyone in the public eye in particular, but those who've tagged ROH in their story. The story I saw the other night, showcased an 'evening out to The Nutcracker' with a really explicit backing track. I first watched it with the sound off + then turned it on + I didn't really know what to think at that point! I'm all for new music + new audiences enjoying ROH for the first time, but I definitely felt this was a low blow + wasn't sure if the person handling ROH social media had listened to the track before they pressed share!

  9. Saw a pair come available yesterday, hope you can grab some soon!
  10. Thank you all, was able to purchase a second ticket (not on same row), all sorted.
  11. Just had a question re: https://www.roh.org.uk/tickets-and-events/insights-50-years-of-manon-details#background - booked 1 ticket that came available last night, but noticed something that it read 'only one ticket per person'. Is this a new policy? If there were two available, I would have got two.
  12. Interested to see how this media exposure will pan out in the long term...impact on budding young dancers, their parents/guardians, teachers of pre-vocational students wanting to signpost, all those working in these institutions or those who aspire to, the countless alumni, the sponsors, those above that + the fee paying audience. Hope further safeguarding concerns are raised to highlight the need for change. Personally I had a place one of the other elite schools (not RBS/Elmhurst) at 11, but didn't go due to lack of funding, continued to train pre-vocationally outside of academic school until I was 16 when I decided I didn't want to continue on this path. Most sad, almost ALL of my ballet friends, most went onto vocational school at 16, yet didn't gain a place in a classical ballet company + are no longer in the industry or too damaged by their experience to even live a normal life in the UK, a lot moved abroad. Similarly, I personally know many people ranging from 5-30+ years older than me who attended either RBS/Elmhurst + experienced the most harrowing abuse, yet they were either too scared to speak out, never listened to OR believed + have struggled on many different levels, trying building a life for themselves either within the arts or outside.
  13. Thank you, yes their old studio location would have been ideal, but Piccadilly Line in rush hour is a no no as I work two jobs, so need to stay in the area! Already take classes at Base Studios, just wondered what good quality dance is left in the King's Cross/Euston area, as there seems to be a lot of empty studio space, but not so much expertise anymore! Will check out Central Nights again to see what's on offer this term, thanks again.
  14. Thank you, yes I've taken classes here too, just always looking for something other than contemporary or ballet, but see they do Street Dance now too...will check it out
  15. As everything is moving so fast in the dance world + following a negative experience before end of summer at what looked like a very suitable class, I would greatly appreciate if anyone had any good recommendations for drop-in evening dance classes (17:30-20:00) within walking distance from King's Cross/St Pancras (15 minutes max). Interested in all styles of dance, as well as pilates, yoga, gyrokinesis etc + anything interesting for my friend + I, both adult dancers. Intermediate/Advanced level. Thank you!
  16. Just now I called the box office to return x1 of tomorrow’s insight/rehearsal tickets. I went in person yesterday + said ‘rehearsal’, but they assumed I meant ‘general rehearsal’ which you can’t return, I was also confused as I’m not a friend or patron. Is there anyone sorting out the wording for these two events, as it’s wasting a lot time, money + also potentially stopping others from watching these ‘closed’ events?
