  1. Congratulations to the DCs with a yes and to the nos please don’t give up! My twins were both JAs, both had WL finals, my DD got a yes my DS a no which was so hard to deal with in the same week! Anyway my DD went to WL until our family relocated to Arizona at the end of year 9 due to my husbands health and my DS went to Canada’s National Ballet School also until Xmas of year 10! They both then trained at Master Ballet Academy in Arizona for 2-3 years until my DD returned to RB upper school half way through first year following competing at Prix De Lausanne and my DS has spent the last 2 years at San Francisco Ballet School on a Full tuition scholarship! So as you can see there are many paths and a no for WL isn’t the end of the world. The best time for all of us was all living together again in AZ for 2-3 years! Sending them away at 11 is tough on the parents and children! They had so much fun and success with YAGP and performing a lot in the USA! They are both now graduating in the worst possible year but again things will work out. They always do! Hold on to those tiny 11 year olds if you can because it all goes by too quickly!!
  2. I heard of 3 girls getting their results yesterday. A yes for yr 8 and nos for year 9
  3. Hi balletqueen, I have a friend with a DD through to finals for year 8! Also 2 friends with DDs through for yr 9.
  4. It was a fantastic afternoon as usual and this year my daughter was performing in yr 7 so that made it very special! The standard was truly brilliant and the whole show was just so slick and beautifully rehearsed. Well worth the hours the children have put in over the last half term or more!! Well done to all the pupils!!!
  5. Flowerdew, I have the same situation with 1 yes and 1 no for my pupils!! Its very hard for them to accept but it makes them stronger and prepares them for the tough world they are choosing to go in to.
  6. Yes I am. She is a very good friend of my daughters who is in yr 7 at WL so that will be lovely for them!!
  7. Me too flowerdew!! My pupil got a yes today! So pleased for her!
  8. One of my pupils had a no yesterday and the other one waiting still! I think today maybe the yes letters?? Who knows!!
  9. Hi Zacharovitti, my daughter has been for the last 2 years (yrs 5 & 6) and was in the group with year 5 and 6 girls both times. The next group up is mostly yrs 7 & 8 maybe a couple of older girls too. As for numbers there were at least 25 in her class last year which is a lot when you consider that when she did the National Ballet of Canada summer programme last year, she was in a class of just 8!! Hope this helps!
  10. hi Vonrothbart, I am not sure how many they will take to finals for yr 8, I think last year there were 3 girls for the 1 place. As for this year, I am not sure where you heard there were going to be 3 places from as unless they assess out there will be no places ! My daughter and her friends are in yr 7 at the moment and it is hard to think of 3 of them being assessed out! I would imagine in year 8 its one place if any at all most years!! I think you have to be very careful what you believe and I hope that none of the year 7 girls have seen that 3 places are up for grabs!!! Don't get me wrong, I am on the audition side too with my son wanting a place so I can see both sides! good luck to your gdd at finals and I hope she enjoys the day.
  11. My daughter brought it home from USA when she came back for spring break! It's great with loads of talent and really interesting!!
  12. My dd and ds both have a place for the second year running, they are very happy although they are only back from 4 weeks at national ballet of Canada the day before so we have to talk about it I think!!! They may be exhausted!
  13. My two also both in to Elmhurst! They will be chuffed! Good luck to everyone else x
